The year 1990 is calling with the exciting news that none other than MC Hammer has decided to reinvent himself as a Web entrepreneur. (And we really hope he gives webinars.) This story comes with the unexpected twist that instead of, say, making his distinctive mark in the domain of digital music, Hammer is thinking even bigger than that — try Google size.

Yes, MC Hammer is hoping to become a cyber-guru by combining all the functionality of a search engine with the rich user experience of social networking, or something like that, with his new “deep search” engine that employs a unique strategy he calls relationship search. “It’s about relationships beyond just the keywords,” Hammer explained in a recent presentation at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

Nice touch! But here’s the best part: The name of Hammer’s innovative online solution is … WireDoo. What’s wrong with Hammertime? It’s for sale.

Oh, and here’s a Hammer webinar after all. Sort of. –KA

Mashable:

To address this issue, Hammer launched WireDoo, with the tagline is “Search once and see what’s related.” The rapper and entrepreneur didn’t reveal much more about the search engine, beyond that it can bring up related topics to a search query in multiple verticals, including finance.

It’s important to note that Google Search does take into account keyword relationships, but Hammer believes that the search engine that his team has built — a project more than two years in the making — will prove to be more useful due to its focus on relational search.
