President Obama is scheduled to guest on “The View,” Thursday, marking the first time a sitting president has lowered himself to daytime talk. Hopefully he doesn’t get confused and try to fire Sherri Shepherd, who is not Shirley Sherrod.

Come to think of it, Shepherd, who doesn’t know whether the world is flat, may be due.

Christian Science Monitor:

Obama’s July 29 appearance will be taped on Wednesday. He will be asked about jobs, the economy, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and family life inside the White House, ABC said in a statement.

Veteran journalist and “The View” co-host Barbara Walters, will also return to the studio for Obama’s appearance for the first time since she underwent surgery in May.
