As one of the conditions for his bail on charges of domestic violence, the man who famously (and apparently legally) shot and killed a black teenager had to lay down his arms.

George Zimmerman is out of jail, after agreeing to give up his guns, pay $9,000 in bail, wear an ankle monitor and stay away from his girlfriend, who reportedly told a 911 operator that Zimmerman was breaking her “shit” with a gun.

Zimmerman’s public defender said his client was “indigent” and $2.5 million in debt.

Zimmerman became nationally famous after killing teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida and becoming the poster boy for so-called stand your ground laws, which make it perversely easy to shoot someone without going to jail.
