Naji Mansour’s life was turned upside down when he refused to become an informant for the FBI. After being detained, repeatedly interrogated and ultimately forced into exile and separated from his children for years, he began recording his telephone conversations with bureau agents.

Mansour’s story is the focus of a new article in Mother Jones magazine titled “This American Refused to Become an FBI Informant. Then the Government Made His Family’s Life Hell.” Mansour speaks with “Democracy Now!” from Sudan on Friday. The author of the piece, Nick Baumann, talks from Washington, D.C.
