Even though the U.S. military’s top brass specifically called this week for the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy to be repealed, that didn’t stop certain Republican congressmen from putting on an impressive show of jackassery in response. Winning top honors among that latter group, at least in Jon Stewart’s book, was Sen. John McCain, but Sen. Saxby Chambliss and other fellow GOP types pitched in with the old, completely unconvincing “troop morale” argument.
