Stephen Colbert trains his mock-Bill O’Reilly act on Ramesh Ponnuru, the conservative author of “Party of Death.” Colbert: “You’ve got a blurb on your cover from Ann Coulter. That’s some credibility right there.”

Ponnuru’s book is about the Democratic Party and abortion rights, but Colbert does a great job of pointing out the silliness in describing the entire Democratic Party with such an absurdly broad term as “Party of Death.”

Colbert: [speaking in delicious mock earnestness] “Please explain to my audience how raising the minimum wage, universal health care and pulling out of Iraq makes them the ‘Party of Death.’ Because I’ve shouted myself hoarse to them on that.”
