Ponnuru’s book is about the Democratic Party and abortion rights, but Colbert does a great job of pointing out the silliness in describing the entire Democratic Party with such an absurdly broad term as “Party of Death.”
Colbert: [speaking in delicious mock earnestness] “Please explain to my audience how raising the minimum wage, universal health care and pulling out of Iraq makes them the ‘Party of Death.’ Because I’ve shouted myself hoarse to them on that.”
