AUDIO: ‘Left, Right & Center’: Love Wins

Truthdig Editor-in-Chief Robert Scheer and the other “Left, Right & Center” panelists have a heated discussion about gay marriage after the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision giving same-sex couples the legal right to marry throughout the United States.
Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion, saying: “Under the Constitution, same-sex couples seek in marriage the same legal treatment as opposite-sex couples, and it would disparage their choices and diminish their personhood to deny them this right.”
How could this ruling influence societal acceptance and laws? Dissenting Justice Samuel Alito suggested: “It will be used to vilify Americans who are unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy.”
Scheer is joined by Josh Barro of The New York Times moderating from the center, Rich Lowry of the National Review on the right and Keli Goff of The Daily Beast as special guest.
