As of 8 p.m. Pacific time, the state of Florida was still too close to call, but that didn’t stop former Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore from declaring that the state will go President Obama’s way.

Gore tweeted:

Gore should know a thing or two about the state of Florida–he did, after all, lose the 2000 presidential race to George W. Bush because of Florida. That election night, networks initially called the state for Gore before switching it to Bush and then deeming it too close to call. And we all remember how that one ultimately ended.
