On the third day of Breivik’s trial for the killing of 77 people in a mass shooting on the Norwegian island of Utoya and the bombing of government buildings in Oslo, Forts outed himself as Breivik’s pen pal to the Norwegian tabloid VG, which Spiegel Online describes as the “country’s most-read newspaper.”
Forts sympathizes with Breivik’s view that Muslims are invading Western nations with help from sympathetic multiculturalists and that they will impose Shariah law if given the chance.
Forts appeared strained and nervous in an interview with a VG reporter, in which he called Breivik a “nationalist and a patriot and not the terrorist neo-Nazi that the media portrays him to be.”

In a video of the interview posted on the VG website on Wednesday in which he explained why he is defending the murders, Forts said: “I believe it demonstrates a sense of nationalism and a moral conscience. He’s fighting against cultural Marxism and the Islamization of Norway and he found that the most rational way to accomplish that was through terrorist actions on Utøya and in Oslo.”
When asked how one could defend the murder of inncoent children, Forts added: “Because I believe that he used it as an unprecedented attack. I don’t believe that it should occur again, but I do believe that it was atrocious but necessary in that it has raised awareness for it and Breivik did that with the executions.”
With an uncertain future and a new administration casting doubt on press freedoms, the danger is clear: The truth is at risk.

Anders Behring Breivik, “the Norwegian far-right extremist” who killed 77 people and wounded hundreds during twin attacks in Norway last summer, was Friday declared to have been sane throughout the course of his rampage. A court sentenced him to at least 21 years in prison.
