Zuade Kaufman, Publisher
Truthdig co-founder and publisher Zuade Kaufman is a former reporter for the Westside Weekly, a Los Angeles Times publication. Kaufman holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in film theory and criticism from the University of California at Santa Cruz and completed Stanford University’s professional course in publishing. Kaufman’s love of journalism and her deep-seated respect for the media resulted in her commitment to create Truthdig with co-founder and editor Robert Scheer. “A media outlet that is free to dig deeper; to ask the questions that remain unasked; to raise the issues that remain hidden; to bring attention to the stories that remain invisible. That’s what I’ve always wanted to be a part of.” Kaufman is a native of Detroit, spends part of each year in France, but has lived most of her life in Los Angeles.
