Storied Magazine Makes Historic Sales Pitch

The New Yorker is selling its complete archive, “every article, poem, short story, and cartoon (and every advertisement) that has appeared in the magazine since 1925,” on an external hard drive for $300.  It’s a novel move for a media company, many of which have been wary of releasing digital versions of content to the public, for fear of piracy.

Hersh: U.S. Aided Israel as Prep for War on Iran

The Bush administration was “closely involved in the planning of Israel?s retaliatory attacks” on Hezbollah, the inestimable Seymour Hersh alleges in The New Yorker. Furthermore, writes Hersh, Bush & Co. saw the Israeli attacks “as a prelude to a potential American preemptive attack to destroy Iran?s nuclear installations.” Administration officials have denied the charges.
