Do we learn anything about Margaret Thatcher from Abi Morgan’s screenplay? And more important, will anyone born after Thatcher’s 11 years in office learn anything about her brand of conservatism and its effects?
Perhaps the filmmakers behind the new Margaret Thatcher biopic “The Iron Lady,” with big-screen queen Meryl Streep playing the titular part, can at least be assured that their characterization of Great Britain’s first female prime minister didn’t overly pander to its famous subject, in that some of her friends ...
