After meeting with his boss, NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke, on Tuesday, the scandal-rattled “NBC Nightly News” anchor was facing some time off but apparently not a dismissal.
The veteran “NBC Nightly News” anchor conceded that a story he told on various occasions about being under fire while on assignment in Iraq in 2003 was not accurate.
