FCC Cashes In on Spectrum Auction

After two months and 261 rounds of bidding, the FCC announced Tuesday that it has raised a total of $19.6 billion from the sale of the U.S. wireless spectrum. The revenue, slated to fund “public safety and digital television transition initiatives,” is nearly double what Congress had previously estimated for the publicly owned spectrum.

CNN’s Martin Defends Ron Paul

Rudy Giuliani was widely praised for his demagogic smackdown of Ron Paul during the second Republican debate, feigning shock and outrage at Paul’s explanation of “blowback.” But Giuliani’s performance, while a crowd-pleaser, exposed the superficiality of his terror-fighting credentials. As CNN’s Roland Martin writes: “Giuliani must be an idiot to not have heard Paul’s rationale before.”

Shortly before being fired, a Lockheed Martin engineer posted a 10-minute video on YouTube alleging that the military contractor was turning a blind eye to critical security flaws on Coast Guard patrol boats.
