Since May 2007, 76 NATO soldiers have been killed and an undisclosed number wounded in 46 recorded “deliberate attacks” by members of the Afghan National Security Force. These figures suggest more than a recent “trend of Afghan treachery.”

File this under just plain weird: Hillary Clinton picked Eight Belles, the only filly in the race, to win the Kentucky Derby. She came in second, behind Big Brown, and, sadly, had to be euthanized on the track because she broke two ankles after crossing the finish line.

... Because the House is considering an anti-gambling bill that would include an exemption for horse racing and intrastate lotteries. The disgraced lobbyist worked to ensure the latter in a bill several years ago.
Gambling is bad, bad, bad. Unless it’s on horsies or lotteries. Then it’s OK.
