Journal Time With Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin

It’s hard to imagine that Glenn Beck had never met Sarah Palin before Wednesday. After all, as Fox News’ lachrymose host suggested in this clip from his eponymous show that very day, the two of them have so much in common.

Sarah Palin’s Fox Debut

The self-described pit bull made her punditry premiere with a guest spot on Bill O’Reilly’s show. O’Reilly wanted to know why liberals are so threatened by Palin (it’s the hair) and whether she thinks Nancy Pelosi is actually crazy. Someone get that man a falafel.

Introducing Sarah Palin, Fox News Pundit

Those who can, do, and those who can’t ... become pundits? Although she has disparaged the media many times in recent memory, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is joining the Murdochian empire at Fox News as a contributor and commentator, according to The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz. (continued)

‘Daily Show’: The Temple of Hume

Gosh, Brit Hume has been hit with some angry e-mails since he proclaimed on national television that Tiger Woods needs saving by one J.C. (whose name, Hume cleverly notes, causes “all hell” to break loose when uttered in such a setting), but Hume doesn’t think his comment was tantamount to proselytizing, no sir.

Glenn Beck Talks ‘Truth Problem’ With Leno

Glenn Beck took time off from televised crying last Friday to explain himself to Jay Leno. "I'm a regular guy. I'm a self-educated man," said Beck, who bragged about his 10 weeks of college. Shortly before announcing "I'm not a TV guy," Beck declared that "we have a truth problem" in America. No shit.

The Deadly Cost of Blocking Health Care Reform

The liberals attacking the Senate health reform bill must never have known real illness. They’ve never been fired at the age of 50 and left without health insurance. They’ve probably never known anyone who died for lack of health insurance.

Fox News Draws Record Ratings in 2009

This doesn’t bode well for next year, but it looks as if leaning ever to the right helped Fox News in 2009. The cable news channel, home to a host of conservative pundits (Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, etc.) pulled in its highest ratings ever, which was definitely not the case for CNN and MSNBC.

‘Colbert Report’: Joining the Conservative Gold Rush

Glenn Beck is pushing it, as are Laura Ingraham and Bill O’Reilly. Nothing shores you up better for the coming Obamapocalypse than gold, that familiar, shiny and dependable element that calls to you, as Stephen Colbert points out, from the periodic table. Or if you don’t have gold, try women—or sheep.

Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee could be a contender in 2012, but he has discovered that rolling out of bed once a week to tell yuck-yucks and play bass on his Fox News show is a lot more fun than glad-handing and fundraising 18 hours a day.

The original cable news network has slipped to fourth and last place with prime-time viewers between ages 25 and 54, trailing Fox News, MSNBC and HLN.
