California Senate Nixes ID Implants for Workers

The California state Senate, anticipating a worst-case employment scenario that would make George Orwell and Karl Marx spin in their graves, passed a bill Thursday that prohibits employers from requiring that their workers be tagged with an implanted identification device similar to the kind that has become popular among pet owners to ID their lost animals.

From U.S. Embassy in Iraq, a Grim Report

A private report made by the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, obtained by the Washington Post, paints a portrait of increasing danger faced by its Iraqi employees who live outside the Green Zone: “harassment, threats and the employees’ constant fears that their neighbors will discover they work for the U.S. government.”
