Fox Anchor Links Terrorism, the Obamas’ Fist Pound

Granted, Fox News’ target demographic is probably not too terribly current when it comes to understanding contemporary pop cultural references and practices, but Fox she-anchor E.D. Hill went above and beyond the call of ridiculousness by calling Barack and Michelle Obama’s fist pound a “terrorist fist jab.” Really, E.D.?

Barack Obama’s Moment in History

It was one of those moments that give you goose bumps—the cheering crowd, the waving placards, the candidate and his family looking Kennedyesque on the occasion of a stunning victory. Barack Obama took the stage Thursday night in Des Moines and proclaimed his vindication of hope: “They said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high.”

Facebook Triumph for Colbert

Regardless of Americans’ varying opinions about Comedy Central court jester Stephen Colbert’s satirical (or is it?) play for the White House, one thing’s for sure—the man’s getting results.  While Barack Obama’s bid to build a loyal network of young’uns on Facebook grew slowly, Colbert’s followers almost crashed the ultra-popular site’s servers in mere days.

¿Cómo Se Dice?  ¿Cómo Se Llama?  ¡Obama!  ¡Obama!

Latino supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama are attempting to fill what they see as a “void in media outreach” to voters from their communities by creating the site “Amigos de Obama,” where supporters can blog, coordinate events and even download a ringtone and special reggaeton tribute to the “skinny dude with the funny name.”

Dick Morris: ‘First Black Is Better Than First Woman’

Clinton strategist turned Fox News provocateur Dick Morris brought his peculiar insight to bear on the Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama showdown, claiming: “Obama is in fact a better first than she is. First black is better than first woman in our politics in terms of valuing it.” What reasoning Morris used to make that determination remains a mystery, as he quickly moved on to the multitude of reasons why he feels Obama can’t win, and how he’ll leave the country if either one does.

Truthdig: Don’t Believe Obama’s Hype on Evangelicals

The Illinois senator chastised his colleagues for leaving the evangelicals to the Republicans.
Electorally, he may be correct, but no self-respecting progressive should be fooled. On the whole, evangelicals are the most regressive people in the country. Just look at the hatred and intolerance they’ve made central to the Republican Party.
