Frederic Raphael is the author of numerous works, including “Some Talk of Alexander: A Journey Through Space and Time in the Greek World.” He won an Oscar in 1965 for his screenplay “Darling” and wrote the screenplays for the films “Far From the Madding Crowd” and “Two for the Road.” His most recent books “A Jew Among Romans: The life and legacy of Flavius Josephus” and “Distant Intimacy: A friendship in the age of the internet” were published in 2013.
