President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, at their “golf summit” in June at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

By Robert Scheer

It’s getting too late to give President Barack Obama a pass on the economy. Sure, he inherited an enormous mess from George W., who whistled “Dixie” while the banking system imploded. But it’s time for Democrats to admit that their guy bears considerable responsibility for not turning things around.

He blindly followed President Bush’s would-be remedy of throwing money at the banks and getting nothing in return for beleaguered homeowners. Sadly, Obama has proved to be nothing more than a Bill Clinton clone triangulating with the Wall Street lobbyists at the expense of ordinary folks.

That fatal arc of betrayal was captured by a headline in Tuesday’s New York Times: “Soaring Poverty Casts Spotlight on ‘Lost Decade.’ ” The Census Bureau reported that there are now 46.2 million Americans living below the official poverty line—the highest number in the 52 years since that statistic was first measured—and median household income has fallen back to the 1996 level. As Harvard economist Lawrence Katz summarized this dreary news: “This is truly a lost decade. We think of America as a place where every generation is doing better, but we’re looking at a period when the median family is in worse shape than it was in the late 1990s.”

The late 1990s, it should be noted, is when President Clinton, working with Phil Gramm, the Republican head of the Senate Banking Committee, pushed through two critical pieces of legislation ending effective regulation of the banks. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act smashed the wall between high-flying Wall Street investment firms and the once staid commercial banks entrusted with the deposits and mortgages of America’s innocent souls. The next year Clinton signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, banning any effective regulation of the rapidly expanded trade in the collateralized debt obligations and credit default swaps that have since haunted the world’s economy.

The collapse of those toxic securities led to the housing crisis and resulted in 15.1 percent of Americans now living in poverty, the same level as when Bill Clinton took office. But thanks to another one of Clinton’s grand triangulation strategies, the one he called “welfare reform,” the impoverished are now denied the safety net that existed before the Clinton presidency. Although 22 percent of U.S. children are now below the poverty line, the Aid to Families With Dependent Children program no longer exists.

Some of us who voted for Obama thought he was no Clinton, but he was and is, as was demonstrated in his first days in office when he appointed two key veterans of the Clinton Treasury Department, Lawrence Summers and Timothy Geithner, to head up the Obama economic team. Geithner, as treasury secretary, is the point man for the administration’s push to pass the so-called American Jobs Act, which the president hyped in his Sept. 8 speech to Congress and the nation. It was pure Clinton bull: I feel your pain while I help the superrich pick your pocket.

Space permits only one example, that of General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, whom Obama selected to head his “Jobs Council of leaders from different industries who are developing a wide range of new ideas to help companies grow and create jobs.” Was that some cruel joke? GE under Immelt has grown and created jobs, but they are abroad rather than in our own troubled country. As a result, by the end of last year, only 134,000 of GE’s workforce of 304,000 were based in the United States; the remainder—and 82 percent of the company’s profit—were sheltered abroad.

Ironically, GE’s ability to avoid taxes was restricted by President Ronald Reagan, who had once been a spokesman for GE but was outraged by the company’s use of tax loopholes. It remained for President Clinton to offer GE some new tax breaks. As a result of being able to shelter profit abroad last year, GE had profits of $14.2 billion but claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion. Immelt was the elephant in the room when Obama said in his speech last week: “Our tax code should not give an advantage to companies that can afford the best-connected lobbyists. It should give an advantage to companies that invest and create jobs right here in the United States of America.”

It has been a long time since GE was creating jobs here during its “better light bulb” days, and the last spurt of GE participation in the U.S. economy came through its unit GE Capital, which specialized in toxic mortgage lending that once produced more than half of the company’s profits but ultimately led to a taxpayer bailout.

Someone who knows a great deal about that sort of scam is Elizabeth Warren, the consumer advocate and Harvard law professor pushed out of Obama’s inner circle. In launching her campaign for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts this week, Warren posted a video that clearly defined the enemy:

“Washington is rigged for big corporations. A big company, like GE, pays nothing in taxes, and we’re asking college students to take on even more debt to get an education?”

Obama in appointing Immelt last January praised him as a business leader who “understands what it takes for America to compete in the global economy.” Apparently, what Immelt understands is that what it takes to satisfy corporate interests instead of national needs is conning a president into looking the other way while you send jobs abroad.

-Yes, “understands what it takes for America to compete in the global economy.” is different from “satisfy corporate interests instead of national needs”. America is actually under crisis this couple of years and i think that’s the main reason why Immelt was appointed.

Nothing is going right for Obama nowadays. People are already forgetting some of his other achievements, such as the assassination of Osama Bin Laden. It should be expected though, because the way the economy is doing right now, Americans need someone to blame. Much of America’s problem cannot be summed in a few words, and the fault cannot be pointed at a few management people only. It would be a trying time ahead for America in this decade.

Or maybe the Ancients and all those previous civilizations from all over Earth [separately] just created good novels for your convenience about the same cycle happening over and over?

Had a conversation with some scientists working on the dig and found out at Gobekli Tepe many structures were also homes of “giants” / hominids. They found remnants of bed inclosures that are 15 to 18 ft long ... similar to ones found in many “mound builder” homes.

Gabriel,

No worries. I don’t mind waiting for a worthwhile response. I’ll post in depth when I’ve had a chance to attend to your suggestions for further viewing. In the meantime, I do have one point of contention I’d like to discuss. You write:

“Korea is and always has been a highly contested land where many wars were fought since it’s close to previous land of MU, a major shipping lane, especially with high energy active South China Sea. No idiot would keep such highly prized records there for safe keeping. Hence Lhasa and other reclusive temples.”

It might interest you to know that one of the world’s most important Buddhist libraries is found in central South Korea, near the top of Mount Gaya. The library at Haein Temple (Haeinsa) boasts the Tripitaka Koreana, “the most complete collection of Buddhist texts, laws and treaties extant, engraved on 80,000 woodblocks between 1237 and 1248.” The Tripitaka Koreana “are recognized by Buddhist scholars around the world for their outstanding accuracy and superior quality. Chinese Buddhist scholars have also used the Tripitaka Koreana as a reference in their compilations… The collection is also an invaluable cultural heritage because of its outstanding historical significance and associations with ideology, religion, historical events and the experiences of individuals.” It is also popularly believed that the regularity of the hanji carved into the blocks indicates that they were the work of a single man. These data suggest that your assertion is faulty. Apparently, “idiots” have been safekeeping “highly prized records” in Korea for going on 800 years, and probably for much longer than that. My point is that if Zen shares a belief in alien visitation and technology with the other Buddhist traditions, then that knowledge is almost certainly stored in the Tripitaka Koreana. Food for thought.

At any rate, I’m still grappling with the hows and whys of the apparently incredibly widespread Buddhist ignorance of what you claim is at the core of their philosophy. I will respond to you more thoroughly, but perhaps you could explain why it is that knowledge of extraterrestrial life and the presence among us of alien technology can only be shared with those who reach a certain level of enlightenment? It seems to me that knowledge of such things would actually be useful in attaining a more enlightened state of being. After all, how can the knowledge that we are not alone in the universe, and that there are, indeed, forms of life higher than our own not fail to inspire a great degree of introspection and humility?

I didn’t forget about you, just been having issues with TD site format.

“In Korea, I was fortunate to become acquainted with a Zen Buddhist monk who had practiced abroad for a number of years.”

- Zen and Buddhism have been a closely guarded secret even to priests. As with any priest-hood one goes up levels of trust til they become a master. This usually takes around 20 yrs. Also with added dealing in matters of regular life this is extended to 40, 60 even 80 yrs.

Then and only then are they allowed to learn more of what’s actually out there .. any part of 300 essential books of all knowledge of the universe. Their training is mainly geared to get to a receptive level to accept such knowledge.

Buddha him/her self, an asexual same as Shiva, had to learn by opening ones mind to such Universal knowledge. He/she learned from more ancient teachings which were/are part of the Pyramid builders world wide .. Land of MU/Lemuria and AT/ATLA/Atlantis

Chinese, Indian and Egyptian records are basically the same.

Korea is and always has been a highly contested land where many wars were fought since it’s close to previous land of MU, a major shipping lane, especially with high energy active South China Sea. No idiot would keep such highly prized records there for safe keeping. Hence Lhasa and other reclusive temples. Think, first Pyramid is located close to China Korea border, not at the sea tip of Korea. China has 1,000’s of them.

Chinese with over 40,000 yrs of printed records, the most prolific besides India and Egypt, and you can’t find records of our creators/aliens?
Clue: What is the full and original history of Oriental Dragons?
I think you need to look around you when you’re there. It’s everywhere, in their buildings, culture, practices, language, habits, furniture, pottery, etc. All you need to do is see it and put it all together.

What is that Lion doing stepping on a certain kind of ball under his paw in front of each temple? What is that ball?
- Do a google-video search for Nassim Haramein and watch his full 8+ hr lecture. A 10 yr old can comprehend it.

You think Dalai Lama is going to blab all this high knowledge all over the news, painting a big target on him, with nefarious leaders of today gunning for anyone who tells?
Maybe you missed the fact that China invaded Nepal/Lhasa and killed the monks, or the fact USA invaded Iraq and pilfered over 65,000 clay tablets never to be seen again, while leaving all kinds of gold treasures behind.

From what you say, What you have done up to this point is only touched the surface on what Buddhism is all about. Add Nassim and you may see further into whats really there to our perceivable mind. And that’s only a start.

Once you start to see deeper, then you will see the level of fraud that’s being perpetrated on everyone.

Gabriel,

Your response to me was well-received, but I do have a couple of items for you to consider, mainly having to do with statements you’ve made previously. To begin:

“And ‘and never once did I have serious discussions with Oriental scholars about any of the things you describe. .. just shows that you didn’t bother to inquire, did you?”

This is incorrect. In Korea, I was fortunate to become acquainted with a Zen Buddhist monk who had practiced abroad for a number of years. As we became friends, he facilitated my informal study of Eastern philosophy. In our discussions of Buddhism and in the literature he recommended, there was never a mention of aliens or of alien technology. How would my supposed “ignorance” of such things allow me inquire about them? Bear in mind that this is Korean Zen Buddhism, and not the Tantric tradition of much of India and Southeast Asia. Last night over supper I asked my wife, herself a Korean and a lifelong practitioner of Zen Buddhism, about a mythology involving aliens or alien tech. She denied any knowledge these things, saying quite flatly that there is no tradition of such thought in Zen Buddhism.

Furthermore, why is the Dalai Lama silent on these matters? I can recall no instance, in either his writing or in any of his public pronouncements, about the existence of aliens and alien technology on Earth. I’d like to invite you to comment on his silence, which, if the things you maintain are true, should be a cause for great concern. It seems to me that the Dalai Lama’s silence makes him at least complicit in the apocalyptic level the suffering being visited upon the world by neoliberal global fascism - and that would be the ultimate violation of the core Buddhist principle.

Like others here, I enjoyed visiting the site of your latest link, which is of a much higher calibre higher than those you’ve provided in the past. I look forward to your thoughts.

Those who have the sense to learn are the winners. Those who don’t perish. ~ Chinese proverb

This is an info and knowledge War and always has been. When everyone knows full truth and can use it constructively and ethically there is no need to be governed or controlled, as everyone is equal. Then and only then we can go to the next stage of our advancement.

This doesn’t mean shutting down your services and safety-nets which you paid into and for. It means improving them.

Above article should be about level of Fraud and Treason perpetrated by whole system instead of wishy washy pussyfooting Scheer does. But I guess with Patriot Act he’s afraid he’ll end up in some hole never to be seen again.

Lately the NWO has stepped up their agenda by asking PPL for ID or personal info in order to make a cash purchase. Significance of this is to tie everyone into their cashless society tyranny. A fascist state.

It is Unlawful to ask for personal info as cash is an anonymous way to make a purchase, according to The Law of The Land. You should never give out your personal info to any corporation since it can be abused. And it does happen quite often, more like all the time.

Some stores ask for ID whenever presented with larger bills. This is also Unlawful. If they can’t verify the bills are real they shouldn’t be in business.

Locals have had enough and started paying with coin, the only real cash minted.

One chain of stores kept asking for ID even of PPL clearly over 40 .. so it was decided by community to pay for everything by coins and refused any ID checks. Within 2 months the store chain closed and moved on.

This is one example of PPL using knowledge to fight large corporations and whole corrupt system.

You want to shut down any corrupt corporation or business then figure a way to cost them money, big money, major money. And you must do it Lawfully. It’s the only thing they understand / comprehend.

Fiction from Friction may be hard [to take, especially as ones stomach turns.

All of everything as frauds, seems so absolutist cretin, just as all of everything else as so frisking perfect.  Shamans and chiefs, were the first opportunists in societies or groups of people, the first people who duped the rest of the people to feather their own beds, sort of like the politicians and the top one percent we see now.

But I am still left, worrying about my Tequila bottles crashing on Mount Everlasting in those 10 mile high waves,... then all of a sudden now I learn the Japanese are flying by the moon?

Frauds are people who dupe other people, since duping
people may utilize and harbor specific philological acts,  utilizing chronological steps but never including or requiring   logical reason, otherwise contrived or made up acts.  I suspect generalizing on who or what are frauders, requires a bit more creativity, may I suggest kissing the blarney stoned for starters!

One thing about frauds, they should actually be successful in their task of frauding other people usually at least one people must be frauded, well in order for the successful fraud to become a card carrying fraud, otherwise they are as one poster (ITW) likes to state,....bat shit crazy!

@ Mayhem

AGAIN .. this is not a matter of Religion.
And “and never once did I have serious discussions with Oriental scholars about any of the things you describe.” .. just shows that you didn’t bother to inquire, did you?

FYI, I studied in Lhasa for many years and other such temples as well, specifically on historical documents. Just in Lhasa documents it is clearly described how space ships work, their technology [schematics included], how to operate them and who the original builders were. Seems like you have some catching up to do.

I also traveled all over this world learning from locals, and actual related sites, as well as learning from English establishment.

Start of the proof is clearly in http://www.sacred-texts.com for the English reader. Yet it’s only a small fraction of the evidence that’s out there. Also in archeology, cosmology, Egyptology, linguistics, and many other sciences combined. It’s interesting to note that all cultures have pretty well the same root historical facts.

Religions do have their basis in act as historical documents, once one discerns them of particular to area religious practices and corrects mistranslations. Torah, Kabbalah and rest of them are encoded with math, science, healing and many other facts. You would know this if you did any study in these and related fields.

Add Hindu, Maya, Native American, African and all other histories and you get a full picture of the previous system. It also shows clearly how European system is outright committing Fraud. How barbaric it really is and as it’s clearly used for control of the uneducated working class, the masses.

The evidence speaks for it’s self.

It’s a well known fact European Imperialism and wherever it has infiltrated has suppressed this information systematically. NASA is constantly lying by smudging [editing] pictures and video, deleting facts from documents and putting most behind secrecy stamps. Same goes for USA government and industrial military complex.

More recent Japanese flyby of our Moon clearly shows previous bases on it, high man or alien made structures, cities, space ports and other structures. I’m sure you can find it on the net and zoom in on the pictures.

Wherever European Priests went they forced their school of thought on everyone. If Natives didn’t comply they did same as to American Natives via the military: they cut off their hands and feet, raped their women, stole their children, killed off the Shamans and up to full massacres of villages and cities. Similar to what some shills on TD try to do via comments.

Anyone with half a brain can see it by reading from Library of Congress or any other National Archive Documents of many European countries or wherever Europeans took over. That’s over 130 countries to date.

Universal Laws have been written down longer ago than most think and are still recorded in ancient books, stone and passed on verbally. Seems like you again need to do some homework.

As for TD: I answer in kind. Clear enough for ya?

Gabriel,

I lived for years in East Asia, studied Zen Buddhism for a number of them, and never once did I have serious discussions with Oriental scholars about any of the things you describe. Nor have you ever presented any “facts” to my knowledge. Links to grainy Youtube videos purporting to offer “definitive” proof of what some might construe as an alien spacecraft is not a fact. Nor are “facts” links to videos in which translated Sumerian texts scroll down the screen. Are such links interesting and worthy of study and consideration? Absolutely. Are they factual evidence of “universal laws” set forth by some race of superior beings? Absolutely not. I do not begrudge your belief in these things, but I find your egomaniacal dogmatism as abrasive as that of any other zealot. Statements like…

“So let me just say that when I walk into a room full of priests, rabbis gurus and western scientists and or oligarchs 90% of them shut up, 20 to 40% walk out and the rest us have a great learning experience. Even though they consider me one of the most dangerous to their system they perk up and listen.”

...do nothing for your cause. They simply show you for the tiresome and endlessly arrogant little man you really are. I’ve no doubt the above is utter bollocks, but if you actually did walk into a room full of “western scientists” I’m certain you’d have quite a debate on your hands. Moreover, what does “western scientists” even mean? Do you have any idea how incredibly diverse a group of people this is? The notion that such a disparate community can simply be written off as “running dogs for the oligarchs” is as ridiculous as your ego. Like most dogmatics, however, you persist solely in a binary mode of thought. This in itself is interesting for someone who claims your beliefs, because binary thinking (i.e. us/them, good/evil) is most clearly of Western derivation. There are few examples of rigid binary thought in traditional East Asian philosophies, but they are certainly the status quo for those of the West. Not that I’d expect you to recognize this, though, as you don’t seem very capable of humility or honest self-reflection.

Lil Bludot, you have no clue as to what I believe in or don’t, because - unlike others on these boards - I am not in the business of proselytizing them ad nauseum. But you may rest assured I have no interest whatever in the politics of death practiced by the neoliberal global elite. I tend to agree with the core ideology and practices that inform Gabriel’s worldview, but like most fanatics his way of communicating his beliefs is abrasive and his constant antagonism is grating. You, like him, appear to have no sense of humor, which is unfortunate, but which is also more or less par for the course here at Truthdig.

Those of you who belittle Gabriel’s world view, or I should say cosmic view, may reflect on the fact that his is an essentially benign cosmology, whereas what you are partaking in is a rapacious, repugnant, and extremely deadly one. There is no escape from it. What has taken over the planet is a species with a dominant ideology that is so insane as to consider the essence of good to be the most efficient means for destroying life. It’s that simple. And you shit heads get drunk on tequila and make fun of someone who believes in a life of some beauty- not your reality, for sure. You would rather live without solutions, and pose faux sophistication as wit from supposed intelligent creatures. Tragically you don’t have a clue, and are probably incapable of recognizing one.

As far as I am concerned, religion is like sexual proclivities, people should keep them to ones self. It is my premise, some people will believe in anything, and those damn barking dogmas do become annoying with their absolutist certainty supported without one iota of reason or fact behind them. This always seems to be a problem for me.

A while back I knew a person who believed in witches and gobblers (really) and she would talk about them incessantly like they were real. Gabriel,

Your dogmatism is as tiring and plebian as any other sort of dogmatism. Ancient notions about Atlantis and Visitors leading humankind back to the stars have the same relative truth value as the notions in any other religion. How is your holier-than-thou, faith-based reality any different from the holier-than-thou, faith-based reality of a Dominionist? It isn’t. Does it get old having someone else’s faith-based reality shoved down your throat thread after thread after thread? You bet it does. So if Leefeller wants to take the piss out of you for constantly proselytizing your faith-based reality in blogs that certainly doesn’t make him an “instant shill asshole”. In fact, one could make the argument that you’re the shill asshole here—for whatever it is you call the religion that seems to dictate the entirety of your being.

I think what a lot of commenters fail to note here as well as the writer is that America is not a democracy - it is an oligarchy. You are not like Canada, Australia, Germany, France or the Scandinavian countries which are social democracies. You are a society rules by the elites therefore the rules of democracy do no apply to you even though Americans think they are the freest and the most democratic. You need to first know who you are in order to change it.

$200,000 for each employee from money spent on stimulus.  Compare that to each soldier expenditure for the Iraqi and Afghan wars -  so far.

The cost of that boondoggle is now estimated to exceed $3 Trillion. In excess of one million U S Servicemen and women have served there.

Divide $3 Trillion by 1,000,000 and you will get a cost of $3 Million dollars per soldier.

Now the Corporations and the Money Changers made out like the bandits they are ( Hundreds of Billions of dollars of profit).

What did the American public get?

Dead and permanently injured Relatives and the $3 Trillion bill in the form of taxes on their children’s heads.

And the most astonishing of all is that there are trolls on here claiming the wars were a good thing and that Bush and the Boys should get Sainthood.

Let’s try this again, hopefully without getting my 5+ layers of protection nuked 3 times.

@Cliff, Michael & BeReal
No probs about misspelling Cliff.

ALL original Megalithic sites are over 10,000 yrs old. Some have been rebuilt over original sites. Example: Karnac Temple Area.

Looked at your link pics and site. All circle stone structures are landing sites / airports of the time. Stones signify the cosmology and math related to that site as it pertains to world network of them and energy potential per site. Style of carvings on your site date back to 28,000 to 45,000 yrs ago.

Real date of site is from layer just under the site. Deposits tell what happened AFTER site was built.

Note: Every 12,500 or so we have a great flood as Earth and solar system cross the Galactic Equinox and Eguator. At this time radiation pressure from our Galactic Black Hole forces Earth out and Gravity pressure pulls us in. This creates waves around 10 miles high, massive a mount of material moved, shifting of tectonic plates up to recorded 18,000 ft., plate reversals [Lemuria / Atlantis], Noah’s flood each time. And we are due.
That’s the main thing the Elites / ruling class have been hiding from rest of PPL.

Falling rocks:
- It’s a well documented fact Earth is like our Sun in miniature. It’s a great big Living dynamo.
- Portals open same as Sun coronas: http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/node/1555 .. these can extend to any body they are attuned to, anywhere in our Galaxy.
- We live in a Multidimensional Universe, 11 of them recorded to date. We can only see a very small part of visual EM spectrum and even smaller part using sophisticated tools. Example: NASA STS-75 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBIrANSMihg .. objects suddenly appear out of nowhere with other objects cruise in from sides and form a big perfect circle.
- Indigenous PPL report PPL disappearing and reappearing in many different locations around Earth, some came back some not. These are remnants of previous tech or our ancestors, much of it still buried under 300 or more ft of rubble.
Put it all together and we have Stargates, literally.

In Moravia there’s a disabled ship imbedded into a mountain, fully inside it. It became caught in such a vortex and never had a chance. Locals say it’s been there for 3 floods, that’s 37,000 + yrs ago. Stone pillars in area name it as a grave site of the “unlucky ones”.

So yes, there are falling rocks, fish and all other manner of things.
See http://s8int.com/ for much more, as a starter guide.

Elites use everyone else to build their safe spots between incidents, keep workers in the dark [as they do today] then most Elites survive for the next round.
Politics is just another tool to hide the truth. They been at this game for 100’s of 1,000’s of yrs.

Starting to get it yet?

There are around 140,000 huge ships out there to take men, women and everything else needed for our future off this rock for the duration. Yet Elites hide how to contact our neighbors and creators. The answers are from Shamans, Marys and Merlins. They used psychedelic plants to enhance mind communications/telepathy with our neighbors.
As Elites outlawed them [war on drugs] our neighbors started creating crop circles and direct visits to tell everyone what’s coming and how to survive it.

Ingesting Hemp-oil / Cannabis-oil in small amounts and meditation combined create a direct communication link [with practice] to our neighbors. Learn the language and save your ass.
BTW: Hemp-oil has over 420 ingredients that match our gnome perfectly. No other plant even comes close.

Starting to see the greater deception and betrayal?

Dear Mr. Scheer,

You article has no solution.

We need someone to run against Obama from within the Democratic Party, so a third party candidate won’t split the vote to give either the covert corporate fascist Obama or the blatant corporate fascist Republican party the election. So we need Elizabeth Warren to run for president within the Democratic party, not for senate. And she needs to be convinced of this immediately.

The government, being the ‘monopoly of violence’, is necessarily an embodiment of perpetual war.  Not everyone thinks this is evil; and some who find it evil nevertheless think it is at least provisionally necessary.  But evil or not, government is and must be at war or preparing for war.

The history of the United States bears this out.  In the 20th century, before World War 2, the United States conducted numerous military interventions in Latin America, was gratuitously involved in World War 1, and colonized the Philippines in a brutal four-year operation following a ginned-up war with Spain whose object was probably the seizure of Cuba and Puerto Rico.  In the 19th century, the U.S. government conducted numerous wars against the Indians, Mexicans, slaves, and seceding Southerners.  And so on.

Clearly, a serious anti-war movement is a movement against the state, against government.  The idea that government can be somehow denatured into a peaceful institution seems pretty fanciful given its basis in coercive force.

A Ranting We Will Go

I have not heard one politician mention the wasted high cost of war? Well a couple of politicians have, Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul and a few others, it’s like they are scratching their heads and asking ... “what war?” I remember Mike Gravel in the last election, talk about scratching their heads.

Well according to John M. the stimulus package cost 2 hundred thousand plus for each employee, I have heard numbers costing for each troop in Iraq and Afghanistan, they seemed high to me when I heard them, I just cannot remember the ridiculous number.

I wonder what it costs to run the fricking Congress and the partisan Supreme court? Damn, if we get rid of all taxes, then those corporations who are people too will have what they want.  Getting that slob on the street minimized so they all become untouchables now!

So Anthony Werner was forced to leave congress because of his stupid lack of judgements, but the rest of those ass holes got to stay?

What is this,... I happen to like money as well as the next guy,  but I do not have any so what? It means my opinions don’t count? After all I am a unemployed socialist Union slacker.  Those dead beats on the street need to be shut down, how dare them asking for a piece of the pie.  So the highest bidder gets their agendas granted, usually a way to make more money.  Boy, what a grand cycle of opportunity.  How does one receive favors from the king?

Hey John M.

I like the way you write. Don’t agree with your
conclusions. But your writing is good.

I just don’t agree that government is all bad. It’s
all bad when it is in a state of perpetual war, which
we have clearly been in since 1941. Others would
argue before then of course, but 1941 is the year the
war economy really started.

Since then our presidents and their advisers and the
congress have been focused on war.  The way we’ve
built our cities, regulated business, educated our
children, established our financial industry,
unleashed television and electronics, fed our
populace, established our energy policy, protected
our ecosystem—all of that has been poorly thought
out. And much of the poor thoughts and myopic
planning have been executed by businessmen and
government officials.

There’s plenty of blame to go around here for the bad
planning.  Telling government to simply get out of
the way is a bit like telling a train simply jump its
tracks: Too late for that; there’d be a helluva crash
if your advice were heeded.

It’s cause and effect. You dedicate all the
intellectuals running the country over the course of
some 70 years to destroying the globe and guess what?
They destroy the globe.

You let businesses run wild during that same period
and they pay and manipulate the government to keep
destroying the globe. And so forth.

So, you know, sorry to break from the polite academic
discourse here, but Jackie Gleason said it best:  One
shit at at time.

Break up the corporate television news media into
small businesses not owned by any other business.
Stop the global perpetual war.
Dedicate the intellectuals in Washington to
rebuilding our destroyed global society.
Regulate businesses as history shows it is best to
regulate them.
Change our energy policy.
Change the way we build our cities and start
rebuilding them in a way that doesn’t require so many
cars.
Rebuild our train system.
And so forth.

There are solutions.  Have you ever worked for a
multinational corporation?  They rule by conquering,
as Rome did.  Their form of conquest is mergers and
acquisitions. After the merging and acquiring is
done, they rarely know what the hell to do. Refer to
most major airlines for details.

Point:  Throwing in your hat with corporations and
saying they’ll straighten everything out is a bit
like jumping in a lion’s cage and telling him to do
what’s natural. The lion will be just fine but you’ll
be dinner.

We at least have some semblance of input on how our
government behaves.  Breaking the propaganda machines
known as television news and stopping the perpetual
war economy will go a long way in focusing government
on the right priorities.  I’m not saying it will be
the greatest and best for all, but given a choice
between being fed to the lions or being the lion
tamer, you know, I prefer the lion tamer role.

Government is not all bad.  We’ve just got to change
its primary goal from destroying humanity to
rebuilding our global society.

“You may say I’m a dreamer—”

We all tend to think if nothing changes next month,
next year, or in our lifetime, then it never will
change.  Chances are humanity will get its act
together. It may take a few centuries, even a few
millienia, but one would hope human beings will rise
above their truculent past and reach some form of
peaceful enlightenment.

However it works out chances are it won’t involve the
willy-nilly inventing of technology and then letting
that technology run wide globally. There will have to
be more long-term planning, which is something
business does not really excel at. Governments tend
to have bit longer view, at least those not involved
in perpetual war.

Here’s to the future that encroaches each second.

http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/gobekli-tepe.html#

When you go there be sure to select"See More Pictures” and I guess about the 4th picture on you can see the intricate stone carvings of these supposedly primitive peoples.

From that site you can pick up other links that can keep you occupied for a few days.

One of the most interesting books I ever read was about unexplained Phenomena ( That might even be the title).  One of the strangest to me was the raining of rocks around Chico California intermittently for about 2 years and Human Conflagration.

In that book was 52 eyewitness case of people who just burnt to dust from an internal fire ( or more precisely oxidation).

An incident happened in Sayre, Oklahoma and Elk City oh maybe in the early eighties, when overnight rocks as large as automobiles showed up in fields one morning.

I have talked to California Historians about the Rock Rain and to relatives in the area of the big boulders.

You could probably look it up in Newspaper archives.  I looked up the rock rain.  No one ever figured out ( at least that I could find) where the rocks came from ( seems like it was around 1910.)

I had hoped that things would have turned out differently, however the problem is that we have a situation of a choice between really bad and really horrid.

You cannot wait for four years and then only vote or refuse to vote because you don’t like the choices. What has been needed is to get inside the Democratic party and form a party inside the party as indeed the Teaparty folk have done in the Republican party.

Even now there is no story coming from Democrats to enthuse even their most diehard base. Instead there is a massive GOTV program that is not even trying to convince anyone of anything.

In that vacuum of story there is a possibility to provide a counter story that can not only advance people like Elizabeth Warren and Alan Grayson but can make the case for policies that are needed as well. By not having a “medicare for all” campaign long before Obama was even elected, not just Obama but the rest of us allowed the health care bill to have such a terrible image quite aside from what it actually did.

This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f9R9MtkpqM speech by George Lakoff takes an hour but is worth every minute. The divide he lays out focuses very well exactly how we can set the agenda by not invoking the conservative ideas that loses the argument because you have already made their case simply by adopting their framing, and then declared yourself the enemy by saying it is bad.

By adopting the Liberal frame the situation is reversed and arguing against the frame is an argument for criminality. If widely spoken and understood both Democrats and Republicans will be forced to improve, and people like Elizabeth Warren will have a much easier time getting their agenda passed.

When all the regular free people get together government and corporations fail by default. People stop buying junk and produce among themselves to trade among themselves.

There’s a revolution rising up that will shut down government and most global corporations. Try watching & reading http://www.democracynow.org for the last 10 yrs.

PPL are really PISSED OFF ...
Get ready .. It’s coming .. and it’s already started .. it won’t be pretty ... 70 Million homeless in US for A ... 120 Million below poverty level .. 500 Million guns in hands of ordinary people in USforA alone .. cops using undue violence ... Elites are scared, VERY SCARED to order such force and violence ... that’s why you get those Corporate shills all over TD and most other websites preaching peace.

No change happens without a revolution. Now it an be a Lawful revolution where all the corrupt end up in jail [Texas still has a death penalty] OR it can be and full revolution taking the whole system down.
This is the only subject that matters.

MSNBC reported today that home foreclosures soared in
August.  1 in every 80 homes in the US are now in some
stage of foreclosure.  Some states have a much larger
rate.  In Nevada for instance, the rate is 1 in 20
homes.  This is a disaster for Obama’s re-election
prospects.

1/piss off the right wing for four more years

2/put a black person in the white house for four more years

3/ keep the radical right suppressed

Yeah I know Obama’s a company Harvard man. He’s rich and is a criminal and all

The best we can hope for is that republicans don’t win this election they want to combine church and state much like the muslims have done and those christian fundementalists are just as bad to their women as the Muslims. The best we can hope for is Elizabeth Warren to win her Senate seat in 2012 and then a successful presidential run in 2016.

By gosh Gabriel you certainly know how to spice things up.  And I would like to thank David J. Cyr for the link he provided - not that it provided anything to prove that Liberals and Democrats are afflicted with all manner of Know nothing, as he implied, but that several stories at the site ( I read them ) were super.

Well there are just a bunch of good comments on this thread.

I mentioned Gabriel because I was once a prolific reader when I was younger and I read all about MU and Thera, the Minoans, where the story of Atlantis came from, and on and on.  Great reading.  Gabriel have you read about Globliki Tele?

Anyway going to the David Cry link, I found one story about how the Bush Crowd is trying to give him “credit” for the Arab Spring.  The author of the story disagrees and here is an excerpt:

“To quote the ever relevant classic, “Clueless,” what the Bush Administration saw from across an ocean was nothing more than a Middle Eastern Monet. From far away, it’s OK, but up close, it’s a big old mess. If democracy is to function, let alone flourish, elsewhere, it must grow from the ideals and actions of its own people, not in the form of bombs based on hyperbolic threats nor from handpicked leaders and transplanted institutional structures.”

Let me hasten to add there is a story on that link about the abysmal record of our forced democracies around the world - and how they copycat our own - corrupt as hell.

But to continue:

“However, the Arab Spring and the primary countries that it entails, namely Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya, could be more successful in their own regime changes for that very reason. Not because of President Bush. Not because of President Obama. Not because of anyone at the top, especially from such a distance. True change, as these rebellions have noticed and have acted upon, must start from the bottom up. It must start from city squares. Or, as Tunisian Mohamed Bouazazi realized, it must start from the streets”.

And it is this last paragraph that I would implore that those seeking change pay attention to.

Finally please go to David’s link and read “The National Debt explained so its easy to Understand”

Just absolutely superb.

This would be a good day to decide that you want to help bring positive change and reform our corrupt Government.

Do something other than keep on voting Democrat or Republican.

Re: Outraged

LMAO ... nice White lie you say!

If you’d bothered to check Ancient Records, ALL the Natives around this planet, comprehensive Archeology and evidence on the ground you’d know there were Originally 4 recent Races [In order of creation]:
1. Black [Africans / bottom half of Earth] = ones in charge of water and it’s wisdom & wellbeing
2. Yellow [Asians] = caretakers of air and all it’s wisdom and wellbeing
3. Red [North & South Americans] = Earth and it’s stewardship and it’s wisdom and wellbeing
4. White [Europeans] = caretakers of fire and it’s wisdom and wellbeing [the most dangerous in the wrong hands] as we can plainly see today with the advent of explosion type industry.

When all 4 races get together and share their knowledge they make up the 5th element, Ether. The one that will free us all. This is clearly evident as Tesla and others proved with their experiments gleaned from ancient records.

There was also a race of giants who were directly descendant from “fallen angels”. They were called the “EV’IL / evil ones” as most of them hunted humans for sport and ate them [cannibals].

All those mounds across the Americas are burial places of those giants. They date back 9,000 to 240,000 yrs ago.

Before them there were only 2 races:
- race of Adam = the Giants = stupid slave workers / Hominids
- race of Eve [which came later] = domestic and technical workers / slaves
Race of Eve then slit up into 4 races as the Creators needed workers for their perspective areas of Earth, Moon and Mars.

We are a combination of Creators, fallen angels, Giants and tribes of Eve.

It’s mostly ignorant Europeans who don’t study and follow Darwinian trash, never bothering to match it with Ancient Records, that believe Africans are the genesis of all humans.
Try http://www.sacred-texts.com ... so you might learn something real for once.

As Natives are the earliest ones here after the Giants and destruction of MU / Lemuria it’s their Rightful land.

It is the Giants of MU and AT / ATLA [Atlantis] that built all the megalithic structures. All, and I mean ALL, Natives state this in their histories.

The Egyptian Law of MA’AT / MU’AT is a derivative and remnant of MU [LeMUria] and AT [ATlantis]. The original Law of our Creators for us. The full Laws of all things and whole universe are contained in 300 essential books of all knowledge. It is the main thing Religions and those in power for last 10,000 yrs have been hiding from everyone to stay in control.

Shiiit, get with the program already. You have the most extensive library in the history of man right in front of your face. It’s called the internet. Start studying ... and use that brain you were born with.

Sadly, many of the comments are very disappointing. Just another mainstream left attempt to throw more bailing wire, rubber-bands, and band aids at the serious sad state our country and our economy, (Obamanomics) that THIS president is responsible for making far worse that it should ever have gotten—he owns it. And make more clumsy excuses for what only can be described as a a corrupt, top-down nightmare.

The liberal establishment is great at recognizing macro-level problems. Charts, indices and tables are mother’s milk for you people. What you don’t understand is that solutions need to come from the micro-level, and that cannot happen until Big Brother takes off the shackles and chains.

Instead of wasting time chasing ghosts and perpetuating dependency on a Nanny State government and seeking to ferret out and destroy it’s evil unknown puppet masters,  how about supporting independence, individual and mutual entrepreneurship in tangible (and money-saving) ways.

Keep regulations on big business in place (simply because they can do more damage and must be forced to be responsible and accountable.) But start letting the working class CREATE THEIR OWN JOBS. Let individuals build relationships of trust and mutual benefit at the local level. Get off small and medium sized business’s back, all business is not evil. These are the building blocks of a civil and sustainable society.

You all have been sucking at the teat of the Federal government so long you don’t know what freedom is or how to think for yourselves, it’s depressing.

Republicans, like most politicians, are not honest. Their bottom line is retaining as much wealth as possible for the elite.  Nearly everything they say to rationalize that position is a lie, be it “supply side economics”, “job creators”, or “business uncertainty”.

Regarding >>Under Bush nothing was paid for<< and >>Democrats are for the working man<<, these statements are a joke in terms of differences between the 2 parties.  The MIC and its wars have expanded under Obama and are still not being paid for.  The working man is still getting stiffed and Obama has set him/her up for further unemployment to be topped off with cuts in entitlements and Social Security.  The Democrats are by and large your frenemy.

One of the scariest, brutal facts that most people are not willing to face is that the evil, cynical people (corporations) running the country are simply not interested in “solving” our problems. There’s simply too much money to be made watching everything that was once beautiful and valuable in this country fall apart.

There isn’t a day that goes by these days that something I once held precious about this country withers from our blatant neglect. “It’s getting too late to give President Barack Obama a pass on the economy.”

It’s not GETTING too late.  That train left the station two years ago.  Obama made his intentions clear the day he appointed Larry Summers and Tim Geithner to his crack team of economic wizards.  That was 2009, Mr. Scheer.  He indeed followed in Bush’s footsteps by throwing money at the banks.  Again, 2009.  For a very long time now,  unemployment percentages haven’t budged from 9%, which we all know is more like 20%.

Anyone paying attention knows that Elizabeth Warren has always been clear about big corporations death grip on the lives of average Americans.  I couldn’t be more pleased to know that she’s running for the U.S. Senate.  The mainstream media machine may actually quote her accurately during her campaign.

Perhaps the “fatal arc of betrayal” is the just announced fact of soaring poverty levels.  Though I doubt the poor needed the New York Times to confirm the fact that there are 46 million people in the same circimstances.

None of this is news. Obama’s betrayal is complete.  Bought and paid for.

How can Obama have such troubles getting Democratic support ?

Here’re two thought experiments.

Thought Experiment #1

If a Republican President did the following things, how do you think the American
people would feel about him or her:

an insurance company subsidy passed off as ‘health reform’,

the six biggest banks re-enforced & now bigger than ever,

the “Volker Rule” downgraded and “postponed”,

immigration reform tabled,

the EPAs more reasonable standards discarded,

the “war on terror” expanded and escalated,

Gitmo retained,

school scores continue their precipitance decline with more ‘charter schools’ as
‘the answer’,

tax cuts for the wealthy extended three times in less than three years (twice with
Democratic majorities in both houses),

bonuses for bankrupt companies’ CEOs paid with tax payer dollars,

cuts proposed for both Social Security and Medicare,

GE given taxpayer money during a year in which it paid no taxes, then its CEO
appointed head of Obama’s Jobs Council,

persistent and un-addressed unemployment,

persistent and un-addressed poverty (highest in 54 years),

persistent and un-addressed loss of middle class assets in the form of housing
and pensions,

Then,

Rushing to defend financial industry malfeasance while waiting until the nation
had the highest rate of poverty in 54 years, people lost their assets in their homes
and pensions, middle class incomes continued to tank and unemployment
persisted at above 9% before ‘coming out for’ a jobs bill.

Thought Experiment #2

What if a nominally Democratic President did those things? Would you trust
him/her to lead?

I confess to be one of the hopeful who voted for Obama thinking that he was a progressive courting Wall Street oligarchs only for the the money he needed to get elected. Clearly, he is a Wall Street seduced wannabe who has eschewed scholarly economists, ignored history (Great Depression and New Deal), and has abandoned the people he claimed to represent. I do not know who he is, or what he stands for. All polls seem to indicate that the vast majority of likely voters have little or no idea what policies or platforms they support—what they do know is that they are frustrated, angry, and insecure about the future. It is a bad time to be an incumbent President. Especially one who seems to advocate for little more than compromise with a strident, obstructionist opposition united in their commitment to his failure. Rick Perry may have no more to offer than swift executions and a return to a 19th Century economy, but he is the “angry man” with easy answers; a potent platform in hard times.

Historic parallels with Republican Rome and Classical Athens may be facile, but they remain a troubling caution. I am finding it increasingly difficult to see anything but political and economic decay ahead.

His dad’s poor economic showing made him determined to not suffer a similar
fate. But I doubt many see him as being in denial about his own mendacity. He
wants two terms but will not be devastated if he loses. He’ll have enough money to
retire comfortably to a modest ranch setting in the Hawaiian Islands and smugly
chalk his loss off to the dumbness of America. He’ll stay very pleased with himself.

Oh yeah? I’d say Obama’s “one betrayal too many” was taking oath of office as head of the world’s bloodiest killing machine. I know I’m part of a small minority on this issue, but the hundreds of thousands of foreigners whose lives have been ruined under his presidency concern me quite a fucking lot.

“Don’t count on corporate America to create the jobs
that would decrease their profits.” - Ricardo Sanchez,
M.D (truthdig poster)

The truth is that corporate America, which owns and
operates the government now, doesn’t need us anymore.
It’s comfortable with permanent 15 to 20 percent
unemployment; it’s not hurting their profits. In fact,
15 to 20 percent unemployment is the RESULT of
multinational corporations maximizing their profits.

@ the “Prophet” yeah, right.  Your religious onanism impresses no one.  More empty whitewashing and rationalizing of the unacceptable. Sell your cheap wares elsewhere little man, maybe those like like fake diamonds might fall for it.

Mr. Scheer, I was glad you stated that it is getting too late to give Obama a pass on the economy. But Immelt is not conning the president into looking the other way while he sends jobs abroad. Obama is one of the people doing the conning.

Obama has a history of saying one thing when he is in campaign mode, and then doing something entirely different later.

For example, with 2012 on the horizon, Obama recently said that our tax code should give an advantage to companies that invest and create jobs right here in the United States of America. But according to a 4/28/11 article from the Washington Examiner, the Obama Administration has spent $1.6 billion on Chinese and other foreign wind power, which ended up outsourcing more American jobs:

“Despite all the talk of green jobs, the overwhelming majority of stimulus money spent on wind power has gone to foreign companies, according to a new report by the Investigative Reporting Workshop at the American University’s School of Communication in Washington, D.C.”

Obama is neither a fool nor an innocent, and he is not being conned. On the contrary, he is all about promoting corporate power and his own self-aggrandizement—although perhaps not in that order.
