Newt Gingrich Is the Joe McCarthy of Muslim Bashing

Boy, one thing I really hate is when American judges try to impose harsh Islamic sharia law. You know, with all those grisly lashings, stonings and beheadings. What’s that you say? No such thing is happening, and you wonder where I got such a crazy idea? Why, Newt Gingrich told me.

On Saturday, speaking at the conservative Values Voter Summit, Gingrich issued a thunderous call for action against an imminent threat that exists only in his fevered imagination—or, perhaps, in his political machinations.

“We should have a federal law that says sharia law cannot be recognized by any court in the United States,” Gingrich declared, to a standing ovation.

OK, but would this include Judge Judy? Because I’ve always suspected that when she gets really mad, and she snaps the heads off both the plaintiff and the defendant, she might be slipping a little sharia into the American subconscious—you know, preparing an unsuspecting nation for the real deal. Maybe we need another law that covers fake judges on daytime television, with punishments for violations that begin with flogging.

But seriously, folks, Newt says we have to halt the insidious encroachment of sharia law, and we have to halt it here and now. In July, speaking at the American Enterprise Institute, he went on at great length about the supposed sharia menace, which he sees as part of a “stealth” campaign to impose Islam on all of us.

“Stealth jihadis use political, cultural, societal, religious, intellectual tools; violent jihadis use violence,” Gingrich said at the AEI. “But in fact they’re both engaged in jihad and they’re both seeking to impose the same end state, which is to replace Western civilization with a radical imposition of sharia.”

He threw in a perfunctory disclaimer—that there is “a sharp distinction between those Muslims who live in the modern world and those Muslims who would radically change the modern world”—and then proceeded with a speech that essentially paints Islam as the new Red Menace. The “stealth jihadis,” I suppose, must be like the “known communists” on the list in Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s hand.

Along the way, in the July speech, Gingrich painted liberals as a bunch of fellow travelers. “How we don’t have some kind of movement in this country on the left that understands that sharia is a direct mortal threat to virtually every value that the left has is really one of the most interesting historical questions,” he said.

Where to begin? First, I guess, by stating the obvious: There is no left-of-center movement dedicated to fighting the steady, stealthy insinuation of sharia into America’s legal system because no such thing is happening. Gingrich invents an enemy and then demands to know why others haven’t sallied forth to slay it.

Gingrich and the Islamophobes have found one solitary case to bolster their “sharia is here” theory. In June 2009, a family court judge in Hudson County, N.J., denied a restraining order to a woman who testified that her husband, a Muslim, had forced her to have non-consensual sex. Judge Joseph Charles Jr. said he did not believe the man “had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault” his wife because he was acting in a way that was “consistent with his practices.”

The judge was clearly in error, as a state appeals court ruled two months ago in reversing his decision. The man’s religious beliefs, the court ruled, do not exempt him from state laws. Thus ended the one and only instance of stealth sharia that anyone has been able to find.

Andrew Silow-Carroll, the editor in chief of the New Jersey Jewish News, cited that case in a column last month blasting Gingrich’s “sharia-phobia.” Silow-Carroll pointed out two things: First, the system worked—the judge made a boneheaded call, and he was overturned. Second, our system already allows some civil matters—but not crimes—to be settled through other means of arbitration. “Among those alternative mechanisms is the beit din, or rabbinic law court,” Silow-Carroll wrote. “Every day, Jews go before batei din to arbitrate real estate deals, nasty divorces and business disputes.”

If Newt were aware of this, would he blow a gasket? Somehow, I doubt it. His objection seems to be faith-specific.

And his purpose seems to be political. If Muslim-bashing draws a rise—and apparently it does—then he’s not going to be outdone. Watch out, Judge Judy. He may be coming for you next.

the Joe McCarthy slamaphibia movement of Frank Gaffney Newt Gingrich Lawrence Kadish is supervised with in place board directors, funded by associated defense contractors, and directed by long time fellow travelers of the foreign intelligence groups seeking to influence USA foreign policy, legally and illegally. Rake for example TESSEC, the National Biometrics project, companies with direct financial interests in the surveillance of US citizens through technology paid for by the american taxpayer, and which flows into the coffers of the foreign cabal. along the way youll meet russian israeli criminal associates, truth is stranger than fiction.

Gingrich is a man worthy of being reviled by all. Even the Republicans turned against him in 1998. The man is a hypocrite of the highest order. When the second of his three wives accused him of being a hypocrite, he responded, “It isn’t what I do that matters; it’s what I say that matters”. He has demonstrated himself to be an absolute reprobate, who possesses a great amount of self confidence, and an educated, pathological mind.

I remember Gingrich well from the 80’s. He along with Dick Cheney, Henry Hyde (Another hypocritical adulterer) and Oran Hatch were the most vehement and vocal supporters for continuing funding for the sponsors of Death Squads in Central America.

Is it surprising that he is a fear mongering, opportunistic, Islamophobe? Not at all, it would be surprising if he wasn’t.

So…apparently getting the Federal Government to “interfere” in our lives is…good?

I love these American Taliban - spreading the fear of
“Islamofacism”.  The truth is they are probably envious
of the way that some small minority of fundamentalist
Moslems can get away with what they do in the name of
their religion.

AS:

I have no idea of the backgrounds of Johns or Gingrich other than they are…American Southerners.

Gingrich is neither stupid nor ignorant, at least in the sense of “not knowing” as opposed to “refusing to know”.

Instead, he is a cold-blooded pragmatic Machiavellian who cares neither for Truth or Morality, but only for power and influence.  He will do or say anything to achieve it, and doesn’t care who he hurts or gets killed.  In short, he is EXACTLY the kind of man our Constitution was written for: To protect us from him.

He DOES have a PhD in History, but from some small Southern university, and, has shown that it did not give him a real understanding of the field.  I did graduate work in History and I DREADED having to deal with arrogant dogmatic martinets like Gingrich, who, fortunately, never entered politics higher than that of the department or college.

When one hears a a C.Vann Woodward or John Hope Franklin give a guest lecture, one realizes JUST how far down the ladder of talented Historians that Gingrich falls.

One of the unintended consequences and implications of Newt Gingrich’s evil campaign against Islam is that he sees American democracy very fragile and weak to be threatened by the personal faith of a tiny minority of some 5-7 million American-Muslims, constituting less than 2% of the American population.

This devil Gingrich is, en essence, overrating the Islamic Shari’ah and underrating the American democracy. Where, but in the sick mind and heart of a fanatic bigot, one can imagine the possibility that 5-7 millions of the population can or are able to contemplate forcing their views on the other 300 million of the population.

Moreover, since in most majority-Muslim countries, the Shari’ah is not implemented at all, and when it’s implemented partially and poorly, like in Saudi Arabia and Iran, how can then a tiny minority of Muslims in America ever contemplate or even dream about forcing it on the majority in a democracy?!

Mind-bugling indeed how racist bigots, carried away by their evil schemes, can ignore basic facts that even a fifth grader can comprehend. But Gingrich is no fifth grader; he is a holder of a Ph.D and once a holder of one of the highest positions in the land as a “Speaker of the House” and herein lies the danger of the venom he is spewing irrationally!!!

As a follow up to a previous comment of mine, and taking into consideration the libelous bigotry of both the irreverent Terry Johns and the bigot Newt Gingrich, I would like to raise the issue of libel vis-a-vis freedom of speech.

It’s my understanding that all civilized societies have laws against libel. According to the dictionary, “libel is published false statement damaging to a person’s reputation.” In my humble opinion, when libel is directed against whole groups, whether ethnic or religious, then it is even more damaging and dangerous.

In light of this, freedom of speech must have a limit when it involves libel, hate-mongering, incitement and generalized false speech about large groups in any society.

In my humble opinion, the real test of a true democracy is how it treats its minorities. Based on this, those who, in the name of free speech, allow themselves to libel, hate-monger and incite against a minority do fail the basic concept of democracy!

Now that I am learning more about Gingrich as a voice of bigotry and Islam-phobia, I am wondering how this low-life politician managed to rise once and become the Speaker of the House! It is my understanding that this ignorant-bigot holds a PhD. in history. Obviously, he never learned to wise-up in learning the lessons of history. And most likely, like his other companion in bigotry, Terry Johns, he never bothered to read the Qur’an.

Obviously, in his ignorance, he is in the same league of the other bigot, so-called “Pastor” Terry Johns, whose recent call to burn the Qur’an has held the nation’s MSM hostage and occupied with with this issue for weeks. When Terry Johns was asked whether he ever read the Qur’an, his stupid answer was that he never did. It is my understanding that this very irreverent Terry Johns is a recent immigrant from the land of Nazism, who was disowned by his own daughter and small congregation in the German homeland due to his fanaticism and extremism.

Though I am not sure about the European background of Gingrich, but judging from his name and his looks, I have a feeling that he might be of German background. If this is true,{and I would like feedback on this issue} then I am wondering whether he and Terry Johns aren’t two of the die-hard examples of the notorious Aryan racists who produced to the world Nazism with all its atrocities!

In the McCarthy era facts still meant something.  How quaint that period in our history seems now.  Back then if someone in public life made an allegation against another person or persons, sooner or later he would have to back it up with proof.  When McCarthy couldn’t prove any of his allegations he fell from power.  Today facts are irrelevant.  Gingrich, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Palin, and the whole tea party crowd believe that they are entitled to their own facts.  If they say that Obama is a marxist, a fascist, or both, neither they nor anyone else expects to see any proof concerning the matter.  They can say he’s a Kenyan anti-colonialist, the son of Malcom X, or a space alien.  They are not expected to present any facts to prove their claims.  I think that what they are overlooking is the fact that now that they have created this environment they are going to have to live in it.

Mr. Robinson, there are more important things to write about than Newt Gingrich.  Let’s hear it for some of the good people who are struggling to do helpful things but never get any publicity at all, unless Amy Goodman picks them up on “Democracy Now.”

Yes, Newt Gingrich is a nasty piece of work and always has been. He is trying to aggitate and that is for sure, but this constant movement to label everyone who opposes or suspects the intentions of Islam as bigots—well that is not true.

When the majority of Islam aggresively acknowledges that members may at one time are another decide to have no religion or try an alternate religion, that would be a step in believing they haven’t malignant intentions.

When the majority of Islam soundly repudiates jihad, than that would be reason to believe they are pussy cats, but that hasn’t happened and as Islam’s people are just as afraid of being made victims of jihad as the rest of us. It isn’t likely to happen.

That in European Countries with large Muslim minorities there is a movement to remove Muslim’s from being prosecuted in Civil Courts of the country, well that is true. They are right now trying for a partial exemption from the courts of Britian.

The reason Islam are suspected of these things is that is the opinion of their Mullahs and of their other leaders as well. They do not believe that they must follow the laws of the countries they live in, if in their opinion they are out of line with Islam.

And, I can assure that is my opinion of many Christian churches that apparently dream of the day they can force their beliefs on to all citizens or force any negative statements to be kept private. We have a Bill of Rights because the intellectuals who wrote the Constitution understood the discord that is guaranteed when people believe they may tell their neighbors what to do and use the government to do it. It is our Governments duty to protect all of us from the pernicous malignance of our own arrogance. Relgions should be forced to pay huge fines for trying to disrupt other peoples lives. Look at the Catholic church for one, but don’t forget all the Protestant minsiters who lie and stesl and manipulate their congregations into bed. It happens too much to pretend that they are forces of constructive organization.

I don’t care if people worship a golden calf, I do care if they insist that that gives them the right to ignore other peoples rights. Let them keep their belief in the church and their private lives. When they leave the front door they are in “our” world and must share.

Remember when Gingrich’s staff jokingly referred to him as “our” sociopath? They were obviously right about this. .  . The question is why does this particular sociopath continue to get so much free press?

Find a fast horse and ride it!  That’s the Salamander’s motto, and always has been.  He’s wanted to be President ever since he engineered Clinton’s puffed-up impeachment.

“Everybody” expected the President to resign rather than be impeached in face of evidence he lied because that’s what Nixon did, forgetting that both Nixon and Clinton could count to 67—the number of votes needed for a conviction.  Combine that with the attacks on Gore who they were going after too, and impeach or engineer HIS resignation too, and who would be President? Why the Speaker of the House, one Newton Gingrich.

But it all blew up in his face.  Clinton called his bluff and was acquitted. Gore stood firm. It came out that while The Salamander was impeaching the President for cheating on his wife, HE was relaxing with HIS mistress and next-wife, while still married.  Oops!

And he rode that fast horse of “The Contract With America” to the Speaker’s Chair.

So, after 11 years, his ambitions still unchecked, he’s found his next horse: The pipe-dream tin-foil hat fantasy that Sharia Law is a threat to our court system.  And the boob-oisie bob their ditto-heads and go “uh-huh, un-huh! That shore do make sense, Brother Newt. Them Eye-rainians are out to get us.”
