Chris Hedges Deserves a Day OffPosted on Jun 28, 2010Chris Hedges, whose column would normally appear here at this time, is busy recovering from his amazing trip up and down a mountain. We’ll hear all about it, we’re sure, but until then, busy yourselves with the classics. Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. Leefeller - When the hike was first advertised, it was mentioned that the theme of the hike would be Chris’ book “War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning”.

One must have patience waiting for texting burning bushes in the mountains.
Everyone needs time to recycle those thoughtless thoughts seeping through the Swiss cheese of the mind. Light is seen most differently in the mountains I envy Hedges. Vacation for me may only be like a hope for change.
In the end I may have missed Hedges article more than I anticipated? Must say it is fun to poke fun at the Hedges montage.
It would be fun to know who of the known regular TD posters actually may have joined the Mountain trek, obviously it was not I. Wonder did they discuss the birds and the bees or more religion and politics? In the mountains one leaves all the BS behind and should enjoy mother nature!
