Anti-Prop. 8 Protests Around the CountryPosted on Nov 16, 2008
On Saturday, people took to the streets all around the U.S. to protest the passage of California’s Proposition 8 and to show their support for same-sex marriage. Here, we’ve compiled 40 of our favorite photos from Spokane to Houston to New York City (watch for some clever signage along the way!). Watch a slide show of the demonstrations below: Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page. |

The next decade is going to be like the 60’s revisited. Love, freedom, equality… the election of a black president is the beginning of that in spite of Obama himself who wants none of it. http://www.lrb.co.uk/

BOYCOTT UTAH! Boycott anything and everything Utah. Boycott anything Bonneville International. The fiscal arm of the Mormon Church. Boycott the Utah ski industry. Boycott Sundance Film Festival. Boycott Marriott Hotels. Boycott Park City and Alta and Temple Homophobia Ground Zero! Boycott the Utah Jazz. Anytime the Jazz play in your town, protest and boycott those games. The bottom line one thing that Mormons understand is MONEY. Boycott boycott boycott. Gays and lesbians have been discriminated against long enough. They have suffered mightily at the hands of Mormons and enough is enough! EQUALITY AND NOW!!
