World Can't Wait protests against BattleCry
From worldcantwait.net

Protesters allied with the anti-Bush organization The World Can’t Wait attempt to drown out a March 26 rally by the anti-gay Christian evangelical group BattleCry. The rally occurred on the steps of San Francisco’s City Hall, where homosexual couples had been married.

Editor’s note: In this opinion piece, a young activist explores the frightening world of a Christian evangelical youth movement that is holding rock concerts and rallies at city halls nationwide this weekend.

(First column a series of three. Second column here, third column here.)

  • If you?ve been waiting to get alarmed until the Christian fascist movement started filling stadiums with young people and hyping them up to do battle in ?God?s army,? wait no longer.

In recent weeks, BattleCry, a Christian fundamentalist youth movement, has attracted more than 25,000 people to mega-rally rock concerts in San Francisco and Detroit, and this weekend it plans to fill Wachovia Stadium in Philadelphia.

The leaders of BattleCry claim that their religion and values are under attack, but amid spectacular light shows, Hummers, Navy SEALs and military imagery on stage, it is BattleCry that has declared war on everyone else. Its leader, Ron Luce, insists: ?This is war. And Jesus invites us to get into the action, telling us that the violent—the ?forceful? ones—will lay hold of the kingdom.?

BattleCry is a part of the evangelical organization Teen Mania, and you can learn a lot about the kind of society that Teen Mania is fighting for by reading up on its Honor Academy, a non-accredited educational institution that offers directed internships to 700 undergraduate and graduate youth each year. Among the academy?s tenets: Homosexuality and masturbation are sins. Interns are forbidden to listen to secular music, watch R-rated movies or date; men can?t use the Internet unsupervised; the length of women?s skirts is regulated. The logic behind this—that men must be protected from the sin of sexual temptation—is what drives Islamic fundamentalists to shroud women in burkhas!

Teen Mania and BattleCry are multimillion-dollar operations that send more than 5,000 missionaries to more than 34 countries each year. Their supporters and members are some of the most powerful and extreme religious lunatics in the country. BattleCry?s ?partners? include Pat Robertson (who got a call from Karl Rove to discuss Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito before the nomination was made public), Charles Colson (who as President Richard Nixon’s lawyer was knee-deep in the Watergate scandal and who went to jail for obstruction of justice in the Pentagon Papers case), and Jerry Falwell (who blamed Sept. 11 on homosexuals, feminists, pagans and abortionists). BattleCry?s events have been addressed by former First Lady Barbara Bush (via video) as well as former President Gerald Ford. This weekend?s event will include Franklin Graham, who has ministered to George W. Bush and publicly proclaimed that Islam is an ?evil religion.?

What most of these figures have in common is their insistence that the Bible be read literally and obeyed as the inerrant word of God. And, because Ron Luce leads youth to say in prayer, ?I will keep my eyes on the battle, submitting to Your code even when I don?t understand,” it would be foolish to expect that there is any part of the Bible?s literal horrors this movement would be unwilling to enforce, including stoning disobedient children and non-virgin brides (Deuteronomy 21:18-21 and 22:13-21), executing gays (Leviticus 20:13), and keeping slaves (Peter 2:18).

Luce’s followers staged a protest in March on the steps of San Francisco?s City Hall because gay weddings had taken place there. Their answer to the scourge of rape and violence against women is to end the right of divorce, spread ignorance and insist on virginity -? the very things that will entrap more women in these nightmares. And this Friday, they are planning rallies at 50 city halls nationwide.

Of course, like the president, who gave Ron Luce an appointment to the White House Advisory Commission on Drug-Free Communities, BattleCry tells its share of bald-faced lies. For one, it claims that ?a society fortified by Biblical principals and a strong moral code ... is the heritage our forefathers fought and died to secure for us.? But the word “God” never appears in the Constitution. After three and a half months of debate about what should go into the document that would govern the land, the framers drafted a secular constitution.

BattleCry also claims America has been ?set aside for God?s purposes -? a country established for good and fruitfully blessed so that we might take God?s message to the ends of the earth.? It is revealing that for all its talk about the value of life and the evils of violent imagery, BattleCry never speaks against the real violence and loss of life being inflicted by U.S. troops in Iraq.

Still, there is one thing that BattleCry gets right: This country is in the midst of a deep moral crisis. We are indeed living through times when business-as-usual is unconscionable.

As the Bush regime wages unjust wars and conducts torture in our names, as it leaves New Orleans to rot and drags us closer each day to a theocracy in which abortion and birth control are banned, science is pulled under and gays are persecuted, it is no wonder that young people are searching for meaning and morality. However, the truth is that youth will not find the morality they need in a stadium listening to Ron Luce preach about religious war and intolerance. And they won?t find it while buying BattleCry?s keepsake dog tags.

These young people need to be challenged to look around themselves and think for themselves.

I am confident that if they do, many of them may find that the truly moral way to live is to throw their tremendous energies and dreams of a better world into stopping this madness and driving out the Bush regime.

This generation ?- and its counterparts around the world -? will have to live with the consequences of this culture war, one way or another.

The old testament told how things were, not how they should be.  Disobedient children,  gays, woman, slavery was delt with wrongly. We know this, and those who reads the bible would c that God wasn’t pleased with the way the world was.  Hence he sent his son the ultimate sacrifice in hopes ppl would turn from evil and love eachother, not discriminate.Weve come a long way.Ive seen miracles happen before me & there is no way I cant believe in the almighty God.I can tell you from a christians point of view. Just because we believe homosexuality is unpure & fornication is wrong, doesn’t mean we hate people who do it. 1 of my friends is gay.My brother & 2 sisters along with my best friend had sex before marriage & I don’t love them any less.I have a friend who had an abortion last week.I dont hold it against her,I don’t vouch for it, but I dont hate her. This IS the way the world is & God isnt going to pay your bills, but when you are hurting & you need something He always finds a way to help u regardless the circumstances. Why is it so wrong to believe in something more powerful then u that keeps u in check? The world would be a safer place 4 our children if terrorists & rapists & murderers believed in Christ. This country was founded on God & whether people like it or not He’s here.I dont understand why it hurts people so much to believe something great is out there that loves u the way u are.It truly doesn’t make sense. If Iraq & Afganistan were Godly countries we wouldnt have had a 9-11.  Religion has been a segregating problem since the turn of the century, everyone thinking theirs is better than the rest.SO WHAT!They all believe in the same God!Why are they fighting!?I for 1 will vouch for God because I have seen Him in others & I have seen His work performed in front of me & in my own life every day!Ive seen kids who wanted to commit suicide turn to God & their life is made new! They feel like they are worth something because God has touched them.He isnt an excuse for them Hes hope. The birth rate would be down if America let God back in, all these teens wouldnt be getting pregnant & so what if people are gay.  Thats between them & God not them & us!  No one is hating.Battle Cry wasnt about a battle with the world,it was about a spiritual battle. Not against other people, but about the demons we see in our house and satan who is constantly destroying families & friendships & people’s lives!Battle Cry didn’t say no to anyone, it said yes to God.Pay checks RNT falling out of the sky. What kind of world would this be if God gave us everything?& I know that I don’t want my children watching tv.Reason being, all they see is people having sex people hating eachother, people speaking evil.I dont want my kids having been subjected to that.Last thing we need in this world r more kids with no morals raping and killing children & reeking havoc with their gangs. If christians pray 2 God for a world that isnt so corrupted, why r so many people afraid of it?This country is more angry at Christians than the people who blew up the world trade centers & r killing their families. That doesn’t make sense when all christians have done is pray & fight for a safer world.God is with us & everyone has seen Him whether they realize it or not & if they dont then they wont except Him and thats their choice. But on a lighter note for all u God loving people out there, forget this web site,If God is for u who can come against u!?They can do whatever they want 2 us,even kill us because what we have waiting for us is something way better than ANYTHING we will find on this earth. We don’t need riches,we don’t need a nice car,we dont need a nice house,we dont need to eat out every night,& we dont need criticism. It isn’t their fault.Pray for them & maybe someday theyll get a touch from God & their lives will be saved! & how wonderful is it going to be when the time comes for God 2 gather His people & we’ll have made it through this world for HIM!

So people think God is domineering and controlling, and people think Christians are brainwashed…Well, if I’m brainwashed, I’m glad, because with this brainwashing I’ve seen miracles in my life and the lives of others!  With this brainwaching I’ve found new hope and faith and a true reason to live and feel confident.  People can say whatever they want about God and about Christianity but when it comes down to it, Christians win, so lay off.  We don’t get bothered by petty comments, it just makes us pray harder for our generation.  God isn’t a jerk.  He wants me to love Him, and I do.  He has healed me and my friends and family, he has kept me and my friends and my family safe, and that’s all I need to know.  Battle Cry was an uplifting revival and God was there, and everyone who was there being appx 25,000 youth, was able to witness it!  I was blessed, we were brought closer together, and I pray that all these people will someday find out how wonderful serving God really is.  Who needs the world…It doesn’t last forever.

you make it seem that BattleCry is this horrible event.. but what if it was an atheist rally or a buddhist rally would you all be saying the same nasty comments…no probably not… so why is it you take your time to hate on our Faith in God..and no it doesn’t say in the Bible if your wrong you’ll got hell it says if you You don’t except Christ you’ll go to hell, and before you are going to hate on us Christians do research and no i’m not saying the internet i mean get a Bible or talk to Preacher or even contact ron Luce himself and ask him and stop making Christianity revolving around how we’re “anti-gay” theres more to it.

I’m one of the youth that went to the “rally” and I can tell you right now that just about everything you’ve stated here on this page is untrue.  I’m sorry if people think they can live a life of sin and then feel guilty when they hear the truth, but that’s how it is.  One day everybody will see the truth and they will know, unfortunetly, it will be too late for some, but you’re ngative comments aren’t helping you.  And if they help you sleep at night congratulations but homosexuality is a sin and that’s all there is to it.  No one said we were discriminating.  God’s word says not to judge, so it’s not our place.  Don’t put words in their mouth.  R-Rated movies are full of sex and inappropriate language that those interns don’t need to see or hear but don’t make it sound like it’s a bad thing.  That’s what they’re giving up for God, if you don’t like it, don’t become an intern there.  If you don’t want to follow God you can take it up with Him, don’t bash us because we love the Lord and worship him in every way we can.  I suppose your next move will be to back Spirit West Coast.  That’s cool though.  But don’t discriminate against us, we haven’t to you or anyone else.  Thank you and God Bless.

A little bit down I wrote something. Why won’t you atheists and anti-Christians answer it. Oh and one thing I forgot:

Note to author of above article: I looked on your link and one was a link to a communist website called revolution. So since you are affiliated with communists you will understand why I don’t take you all too seriously.

Oh and if you guys are going to bring up the crusades like all anti-christians do:
The crusades were started to stop the spread of radical Islam. I read several books on this and I am not so gullible that I take what people tell me. You might want to pick up a book on the crusades before you start talking (some guy mentioned them here earlier).

Worst Human rights record in history?

In the Inquistition, Crusades and Religious wars of Christianty all put together, about 40,000 died. This was not protastant Christianty at fault, but the corrupt, power-hungry cotholic church.

On the other hand, Atheist regeimes have slaughterd more people in the last century than all religions (including Catholicism, Islam, Protastantinsm, Zoroasterianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism ect.) have since the beginning of time. put together.

Hitler killed over 8 million Jews. (no true christian would slaughter any race, least of all the people whom Yeshua (Jesus) came from.)

Stalin killed over 40 million of the russians, and turned the lush breadbasket of the Ukraine to wasteland.

Mao Tse Tung massacred over 300 million of his own people during the Cultural Revolution.

The list goes on and on. Pol Pot, Moussilini, Saddam, Idi Amin, Kim Jung Ill and so on and so forth.

Battlecry does not seek to take over the government. Last time Christianity was made part of the government, (Under the reign of the Roman Emperor Constintaine.) it was so altered and corrupted that it took it over a thousand years (Until the Reformation) to recover.

    God bless you all!

What is better, saying you love everyone and want to help them because you truly have love for any and every person alive? Or saying you love someone and want to help them so you can earn brownie points from the creator of the universe and get a ticket to some LaLa land in the sky after you die?

So your organizations gave 2 million to katrina relief - true giving is giving with conditions - without preaching - w/o spreading the ‘word’.  Give because it’s the right thing to do - not because you feel you need to brainwash millions more into believing fairy tales.  Why not just donate the money without making sure people ‘get the message’.  You can’t - you all have an ulterior motive - brainwash and convert.

And you take anyone who opposes you as an attack?  Who calls upon credible and obvious correlations to your groups and some of the worst human rights offenders in history?  If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck…..

    Part 2

But then again, who are YOU to say that I can’t believe in what I believe? Who are you to say that Battlecry is nothing but a bunch of Holy rollers who want to suck money out of us and to “brainwash” us? Who are you to say such things? You get angry because I disagree with what you’re doing, but do you see me insulting you? No. Do I see you insulting me and my faith? Yes. Look at that. You’re afraid. You cannot accept what I can accept, and that angers you because you cannot sway me to think otherwise. Me, and hundreds of millions of others, are the same. Granted, there are a lot of cultural christians, or hypocrits, out there, and unfortunately those are the ones that people look at when they see Christianity, and that’s really unfortunate, because there are a lot of us who do a lot of good.
And as far as ATF not doing anything: they donated over 2 million dollars to the Katrina relief fund, not including food, clothing, materials to rebuild homes and schools… ATF is just ONE of MANY Christian ministries whose sole purpose is to bring the message of Christ to the world.
If you think that Teen Mania is “trying to suck money out of kids”, think of it like this: Would you rather have kids spend money on cigaretts or drugs or alcohol? What about excess clothing? Or movies or porn? That’s what a LOT of people spend their money on, and Teen Mania helps them to see that if you give your money to a better cause, then you’re doing a great favor to the world. ATF brings the message of Christ to hundreds of thousands of people, many of them in pain, at their wits end because the world cannot help them. They want something more, and Christ WORKS THROUGH people like Ron Luce, WORKS THROUGH the bands that appear, to bring hope healing and love to them.
Adrian is right, you simply don’t understand. I think that if you did, you wouldn’t be insulting something that’s done so much GOOD. If you actually ATTENDED AN EVENT, you’d see for yourself that what you think isn’t true. Look at it like this, teenagers aren’t the only ones who go to those events. Thousands of parents do too, and do you see any parent who went to an event complaining on this site? No. You see a parent who had a child go and that parent didn’t understand why her child felt the way he /she did. Because that parent didn’t go to an event.
Plus, Battlecry isn’t the only one sharing the message of faith, there’s THOUSANDS of churches across the country doing the exact same thing, on a smaller scale. you’re spending so much energy on trying to prove that Battlecry is a bad thing that you aren’t looking at other churches, bands, singers, performers, actors, writers, producers, who are making a difference in the world and they aren’t being persecuted.
Also, we ARE living in the end of times. The Bible says that we are, and though it was written 1500 years ago, God worked through those writers of the Bible, he USED them to write it, and God doesn’t operate based on time. He exists outside of time, a day is a thousand years to him. Read up on Biblical prophecies, you’ll see what I mean. There’s plenty of them, and they all came true, the last one happening less than 50 years ago.

One thing that Ron Luce tells us every time is that we need to live what we preach, and that if we choose to become Christians, then we need to PROVE that we are Followers of Christ, and that we need to be “in the world but not of the world”. I hate to admit it Rob, but you’re right on one thing: some kids who go to ATF return home like nothing ever happened, and some people are hypocrits… but you aren’t giving credit to those who DO decide to live a radically different life, those who decide to take the world head on. One thing, John, that you have to understand is that you have no right to demand from God an answer to your prayer right away. It took God 3 years to get through to me, or rather, it took me 3 years to ALLOW God to get through to me. Who are you to demand from God an immediate answer, to mock me and say “(big yawn) The fire and brimstone crowd have been saying it is the “end of times” for centuries now. Don’t you think that line is getting a little old.

    Here’s a bet:

You pray to Jesus that hunger will end or the poor will be healed or the liberal internet will burn in hell or the blind will see or WHATEVER YOU WANT.

I’ll pray to my dog that tomorrow morning the world will be pretty much the same as it is today.

Let’s see whose prayers are answered.”

You have absolutely NO faith in Christ, so obviously your arrogance towards Christians and towards Christ will appear. You don’t understand, Christians have been mocked ever since Christ was crucified, but the thing that matters most is, nothing you say can affect me. I AM BRAINWASHED, in the sense that I’ve come to know and accept something that you disagree with, and that scares you and annoyed you because you’ve grown up in a society that has grown away from God, it’s become custom to do whatever you want and to have no one to answer to. I think the thing that most people are fighting against is their own comfort, because they are so used to living a certain lifestyle, that once someone says that what they’re doing is bad, they freak out and say “Wow, you’re really creepy, who are you to say that?”

“Battle Cry is the best thing that happened to San Francisco Bay area.”
Oh of course. I mean, I happen to live in South San Francisco and I never stop hearing people talking about some wonderful neo-conservative fundamentalist youth movement preaching theocratic rule in America!
    <sarcasm>

    “Secular America is not America”
You know….the problem is that I’m looking that pesky old document known as the Constitution, and….well don’t ya know it? I don’t see any mention of culturally-exclusive gods or martyred crucified messianic figures. In fact, there’s pesky paragraph that’s called the First Amendment that makes it very clear…..

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”

So Tom, I’m sorry to say there’s really nothing in the Constitution that states that this country is for Christians only.

“those who do not believe are free to leave!!!!”
I would advise to you live in a country like Saudi Arabia or Iran if you want to live in a nation run by religion. You’d have more in common with those folks.

It is indeed amusing at how the liberal crowd insults Christianity. We are fascists, stupid, and ignorant people because we are against gay marriage and abortion…because we pray and go to Church? We are fools for not being atheist, agnostic, or for following our religion. Yet you , for all your rudeness and insults, are enlightened and open-minded people.  Your hypocrisy and arrogance astounds me.
Better idea: instead of insulting and berating Christians understand why we believe what we believe. We are not blowing up buildings or even advocating these sort of things. Christianity built the western world. Don’t believe me? Go read a book. Oh and yes I have read books and I am about to major in history by the way.
If teens protested that abortion and gay marriage should be legal then you would be happy and proud of them and would never dare insult them.
P.S.-note to author: I like how you called our troops “elite killing machines” and talked about how they murdered people in Iraq. The reason you can write the things you just wrote is because of those men who are trying to stabilize that nation and help the people in it! Once again you never once DARE to criticize the terrorists. Instead you criticize the people keeping you alive. Guess your not as wise and enlightened as you claim to be.
I’m not normally this curt but that article I found very rude and offensive with your insulting our troops and calling Christians fascists…

I had initially said my goodbyes to this article because it seems the majority of replies were coming from people who supported Teen Mania and Ron Luce’s lunacy, but it is nice to see some rational people popping in.
John, you are absolutely right, people have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years at this point. By the logic of most “end of times” prophecies, the world must have ended 80 times by now. The scary thing is that, in the fundamentalist Christian mindset, the worse things get, the better things will be. World War 3 would undoubtedly be a clear sign to these folks that their savior superhero would descend from the sky and save the day, and that is a terrifying prospect.
It’s also interesting to note that Battlecry doesn’t really do anything. They hold pointless protests, enjoy pyrotechnic shows, complain about pop culture and nonbelievers, listen to horrible Linkin Park and Creed-copy bands perform, and listen to High Priest Ron try and rouse them to some sort of Evangelical version of China’s Cultural Revolution.
But at the end of the day, when the show is over, the kids return to their normal teenage lives and go about their day. Talking about accomplishing great things and feeling good about yourself because some omnipotent god is watching over you isn’t the same as actually accomplishing social change. People have been trying these fundamentalist youth revolution organizations since the late 60’s with little success.

I feel sorry for all you brainwashed people.  Unable to think for yourselves - take responsibility for your own actions and put your faith and actions in something that doesn’t exist.

You are the Brownshirts and Hitler Youth League all over again - except you replace Hitler with the name of your god.

    Sad, sad, sad.

Grow up, get a job in the REAL WORLD, Pay taxes, worry about paying for health care, the rising cost of gas, the fact that we are the most hated nation in the world because of our prosperity and freedom and contribute something tangible to make the world a better place instead of a carbon copy of Iran with its oppressive rules against women (who are your equals whether you like it or not) and plunging us back into the Dark ages.

Start to pay your own bills, worry about how you’re going to send your kids to college, how you’re going to pay the rent - get your heads of your butts and stop thinking that your god will save you - he won’t.  I don’t see rent payments and insurance payments and paychecks dropping from the sky.  You all are idealists - well guess what kids, idealism doesn’t pay the bills and religion doesn’t either unless you get a slick conartist who preys on ypung impressionable kids to send all their money to him, listen to his ‘organizations’ mass produced media and whine to their parents they need more money so they can ‘spread the word’.  If you all are soo passionate - fund it on your own - not on mommy and daddy’s backs.  That’s right - move out at 12, 13, 13, 14, 15, 16 and get a job, find a place to live, but groceries, pay for insurance, pay rent, ultilies, transportation costs, school all on your own.  You’ll soon realize what the real world is - and my friends - its not lining the pockets of Ron Luce.

... People, I am really excited that we’re in the end of times, because that means that things will heat up so much more than ever before in history. ...

<big yawn> The fire and brimstone crowd have been saying it is the “end of times” for centuries now.

Let’s see whose prayers are answered.

You have to also understand that the Bible calls us to be a soldier for Christ (2 Timothy 2: 3)
“3Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”
    (ephesians 6:13)
“13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
    (Psalm 35)
    “Of David.
    1 Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me.
    2 Take up shield and buckler;
arise and come to my aid.

3 Brandish spear and javelin [a]
        against those who pursue me.
        Say to my soul,
        “I am your salvation.”

It is important to not confuse spiritual war with the idea that we are attacking people and expecting them to understand us without understanding God (and who CAN understand God??? He’s HUGE, there’s NO POSSIBLE WAY we can EVER understand Him) Teen Mania’s mission is to eliminate “Cultural Christians” by creating soldiers for Christ through actual lessons that people can relate to. If you ever go to an event, you’ll see that they do a very good job in relating with teen and young adult issues, they reach out to hundreds of thousands of teens for a reason, it isn’t like they’re spreading lies or teaching the wrong thing, they have it pretty close. They aren’t perfect, there are things that they can work on, but unless you attend an event, or look at a DVD set that you can buy, you can’t judge Teen Mania’s mission because of a mission’s trip, the two are very different. Please know that I am not with Teen Mania, but I do appreciate everything they’ve done for me, and as someone who went through his teenage years either in mental hospitals or suicidally depressed, I can say first hand that they aren’t going about it the wrong way, that they are very powerful BECAUSE they are relevant. They understand pain, because Teen Mania is RUN BY TEENS, yes, there’s the higher ups, but 95 percent of the whole organization is run by teens.
let me ask you something, what do you think Teen Mania is doing wrong? List specifics, because unless you tell them why you think they’re going about it the wrong way, how can you ever expect them to make you happy?
Also, Teen Mania isn’t trying so much to change society as much as it’s trying to form it’s own voice, to let society know that they can’t just SHUT Christianity out entirely like some people want to do. It’s important that Teen Mania is doing because we are creating an official VOICE that the world doesn’t want us to use because they don’t understand us. They want us to live in pain as long as they get money. The hospitals want us to stay there, want us to accept being gay as being normal, to turn to medicine instead of turning to God, to keep Christianity out of schools, hospitals, music, television, stores, you name it. Teen Mania isn’t trying to change anybody, just exposing the media and modern day America what is happening, how important it is to take a stand before we’re (christians) shut out of the picture entirely. Church attendace is dropping, the number of Bibles being sold is dropping, the number of suicides, drug and alcohol addiction,  premarital sex, teen pregnancies and abortions are rising, and people don’t know who to blame this on. People expect us Christians to conform to the sick ways of the world and to perceive that as normal, and I’m going to tell you that that is NOT going to happen. Attend an event, you’ll see what I mean when I say that what they do is life changing for hundreds of thousands of people, and there’s a reason why San Francisco is afraid of them.

I know the Battlecry people. I once went on a mission with Teen Mania Ministries to Australia when I was 17. I know that they have good intentions. They desire to see God glorified and to make an impact for Him. This is good.

    But..

I also know that while alot of what they say is truth, they are going about expressing it in the wrong way.

“For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms” Ephesians 6:12

“He (Jesus) will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets” Matthew 12-19

“Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?” Romans 2:4

“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outisde” 1 Corinthians 5:12

It’s true that society is depraved, it’s true God hates sin (God hates sin not the sinner), and we should be upset how good is called evil and evil is called good. It’s very appropriate to want soicety to change, to live rightly, but you cannot expect the attributes of a Goldy society from one that does not know Him. This is backwards.

They are, in a sense, angry at a blind world for not being able to see.

Tomorrow I and several other believers will be City Hall in San Francisco to silently protest the misrepresentation of the gospel of Christ.

We live here, and while Teen Mainia Ministries and those involved have good intentions, they are creating and bigger mess for us to clean up, and a wider valley between us and our nehibors to cross.

This is a war, not for cultural purity, (this comes after people have been touched by God, not before) but for the truth of God and the good news that Jesus died as the punishment for our sins so that we could be made FREELY right with God to reach our nehibors.

    part 2

our message will be even MORE effective because people won’t be able to say that we’re hypocrites. Guys, have fun, but above all use this event to learn more about God. ATF isn’t just about fun, it’s about surrendering yourself to God, allowing Him to work in your life, and using the experiences that you have to keep going, to “Light the fire and keep it lit the whole year, and beyond.” When I was twelve (I’m almost nineteen now, I attended my first ATF event, and at first I went because of the music and because it was fun. But after a while, I realized that I have to get serious with God or else why bother faking what I felt while I was with thousands of other people? What was the point? I needed to get serious about God within my church, other Christian friends, through my speach, in my life, throughout ME. Becoming a Christian is a lifelong decision, and to those who may not know, you can become a Christian in churches as well, don’t feel like you need to attend an event because there’s no where else where you can hear God’s word… but it is important to go if you’re serious about learning more about God because the way that they preach God’s message is absolutely stunning, chances are you’ve never heard anything quite like it, and their PASSION for what they do is different from most people I meet. Be a true warrior for Christ, which also means loving those who disagree with us and are trying to shut us out of society (funny, how a country designed originally for religious freedom is now a country designed for freedom from religion…. what’s up with that?) But, brothers and sisters, you need to also be aware that this is going to happen one day, being Christian will be illegal, we’ll have to be Christians in private and if someone knows about our faith, we may have to die for the cause. But, you know what? Living the lie (that Jesus isn’t God), is SO MUCH WORSE than death. Because death on earth is temporary, spiritual death is eternal. Things are going to get much worse as time goes on, as people who think they’re doing the “right thing” shut us out entirely, creating a country…. creating a WORLD, free from religion. The Bible says it’s going to happen, and that’s why we need to save as many as we can before it’s too late. THAT’S Teen Mania’s true mission.

I agree, we need to stop arguing about this and actually LIVE the Word!  Those who have seen Christ work and do miracles are the ones who have strong voices in the Lord, and my voice is STRONG because I KNOW that Jesus is real, and I KNOW that JESUS SAVED ME. People, I am really excited that we’re in the end of times, because that means that things will heat up so much more than ever before in history. If you will read the book of Revelation or the Left Behind series, you’ll see an account of what the end of times will look like, and you’ll realize the awesome power of God. “Jesus is the Lord, He reigns forevermore!!!”  It’s SO important that we NEVER even for one MINUTE sit down and be silent, because the enemy will use that silence to influence the unsaved that we are weak, and that they can trample all over us. You wanna know WHY it’s so important that ATF doesn’t leave San Francisco? Because if we leave, that’s running from the enemy, and how can God’s army RUN!? That would be a victory for satan, and we should NEVER give victory to the devil. We need to stand up and be strong, accept what people say with a smiling face, love, compassion, and the Truth. Don’t give up when things get difficult, because we need to ENDURE, God will have the final say, and we can’t stand up against the enemy without the power of Christ. I will not be going to the San Francisco event, but I will be going to the Baltimore one in May, and I’m VERY excited about it.  As it is, they barely have a case, and the reason why San Francisco wants ATF out is because they’re AFRAID. Afraid of WHAT, I don’t know, because the reasons are different for each person. But, Sunsara Taylor is trying to convince people that we’re trying to create a theocracy…. several older friends of mine agree, she has absolutely NO IDEA what a theocracy is, a TRUE theocracy. She’s trying to preach radical ideas into the minds of those who don’t know better, which is like one blind man leading another blind man across the road. It’s dangerous, because she can’t see the truth, it’s dangerous, because a true theocracy would be like Hitler, and until she gets her facts straight and attends an event, she needs to be quiet for once, and stop telling US to be quiet. God’s army is STRONG, and if we can reach the “cultural Christians”,

I agree with you, I was just a little confused as to what you meant by “Jesus is coming to San Francisco”, it sounded like you were mixing ATF with Jesus, and thinking they are the same… so, I apologize. People, please pray about the worship this weekend, San Francisco is trying to shut out ATF, saying they can’t have worship before 10AM or after 10PM, but consider this a blessing in disguise because that means that people who don’t know about Acquire the Fire can hear God’s music, and hopefully this attempt to drown us out will backfire on them and draw more to Christ! So, brothers and sisters, I love you all. You all rock, and if anyone is going to the Maryland event, I’ll see you there in May.

You may say that Jesus is their? But is Jesus King their? Is His Kingdom established in California? It isnt about ATF or Battlecry or Church. It is about the Kingdom of God. What is the Kingdom of God? It is more than mere words but a demonstration of the power of God. It is peace, love and joy in the Holy Ghost. The Kingdom of God is inside you. So when Christians go places for events, they take Jesus to the lost. Colossians 1:27 says that Christ in us is the hope of glory. And the Bible says that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of His glory. So what is my point? Unbelievers are sick of hearing about Jesus. We can’t afford to have a form of godliness anymore. We need the power of God. The Bible says to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead. Freely we have recieved now freely give. We are the Bride of Christ. Why are we not walking in that power and authority Christ has given us? Ill tell you why. Because of our relious mindsets. Our traditions. Our programs. Jesus is life. He is our Savior and Healer. He can He us all. Acts 1:1 says Jesus went and around the town teaching and doing. We need to show the the power of God. God is raising up a generation who will walk on the frontlines. Who will walk with boldness, stand in the face of the the devil and of hell and snatch every single soul out of His hands. If Jesus be God serve Him whole heartedly. If not then quit with being politically correct. If we call ourselves Christian then be known as one. Not some religious person. But show them the love of Christ. Heal the sick. Raise the dead. Why dont we have power? Because we don’t have holiness. But Christ wants to ressurect us with His power according to Romans 8. Quit the judging and start the loving. Jesus is the answer. Not compettitions. Not argueing but showing them the love of God. Reaching out to the community and loving them. Being a voice is great. But what are shouting out? Religion? I hope now. But this world is so hungry for truth that is real. Something they can bank on. And we have is. Jesus. Nothing else. Nothing more. Just Jesus. Christ the King. Taking His Kingdom everywhere we go. Loving God. Loving people. Being Christ like.

Rene, I’m glad that you’re very exciting about the upcoming San Francisco event, but there something you need to realize. Jesus isn’t “coming to San Francisco”, He’s already there, He’s always been there, Acquire the Fire, or “Battlecry”, is coming to San Francisco…... not to be mean, because I am the LEAST mean person there is, but there is a difference between the two. Always remember that ATF cannot take the place of Jesus, but they merely promote Jesus to those who’ve never heard His message before. ATF is a tool. To Rob, Jesus IS doing supernatural things, but you are so set on not seeing them that you convince yourself that they don’t exist. The reason God doesn’t show Himself to us like He used to is because we’ve turned from Him, He’s in Heaven and He left us the Bible, a guidebook to help us see Him again. I want to REALLY see God, but who am I to demand such a supernatural thing? Who am I to turn from God? I have to walk in faith, there is no other way to live. Don’t live in ignorance, because then it will be you that is the fool in the end, because our life here on Earth is very temporary, life in Heaven, a place we cannot travel to on our own, is complete in and of itself.
And to everyone else who think that we are using the Bible as a crutch, that we are using God as a crutch….. you’re right, we are. If you had a broken leg, you would need a crutch to get around. We are blind in this sinful world, we need the Bible, we need other Christians, and we need Jesus to help us survive. Jesus is my crutch, and He is all I have going for me. Jesus is enough, Jesus is more than enough. I love you all, and have fun at the San Francisco ATF event, and don’t let the sins of the world keep you from your walk in the Lord, keep running and don’t look back. But remember, ATF is NOT a substitute for the one living God.

Rob, you want facts, well here thay are:
      You (and I) are sinners, breakers of God’s laws (yes, the God you don’t believe exists);
We have all resisted Him, we’re all born with a “want-to to do things our own way.”  Yes, He loves us (something of course you find hard to accept, denying His existence).  He could have made us all robots without choice, but He loved us enough to give us free will.  You’re certainly using yours to reject Him.  Try explaining conscience and moral law without God, though with your keen mind (no sarcasm intended) I’m sure you’ll think of something. We are all without excuse, as He truly has revealed Himself if we CHOOSE to see! Only God can also heal the VERY DEEP hurt and wound that is festering in you.  I pray you let Him.  “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.”  God bless you, Rob.  I love you too.

If only superstitions and ancient folklore can bring   me “true happiness, love and strength”, well I guess I prefer to be “unhappy” and “weak” in your eyes and considering I have been through a lot in my life I don’t need an omnipotent invisible friend to validate that or to validate the love, happiness and strength I have today.

Sorry that I don’t view the world as this evil deceptive place that you do. It just is what it is, you shouldn’t be so hard on a simple planet just doing it’s thing. It’s the only home I will ever have, and this life is the only one I have, so I like the world just fine. I know, being “worldly” is uncool to you folks.

Most of you claim that I don’t need evidence, all I need is faith. Well, according to the Old and New Testaments there wasn’t too much effort on God’s part to display evidence for his existence. It was no small task for him to test Moses in the desert, or to display his abilities via Moses to his fellow Jews. Throughout the Old Testament and New Testament, we read of amazing miracles, terrifying plagues, resurrected souls, angels with flaming swords, etc. All religions validate the existence of their gods by referencing ancient writings describing incredible and supernatural events. So my question to you is…..what happened? Why don’t we see those things happening today? Why did God cancel performances of his special effects shows? It happened then supposedly, why not now? The so-called Holy Land of Israel has been a killing zone for the past 60 years, I don’t see God coming to the aid of the Jews, who supposedly promised that land to the Jews in his role as an omniscient real estate broker. Nor do I see him coming to the aid of the Muslims, who say he carried their prophet Mohammed to heaven on a winged horse, yet winged horses are hard to come by these days. If fairies, ghosts, dragons, angels and demons were readily observable today, I might not be so skeptical.

I predicted at least on of you would go with the by-default comment of “You want proof God exists? Look around you”. That’s not proof, that’s supposition. I could say that the world around me is proof that the universe was created by a giant space octopus named Jerry, and the only thing I would have to go by is faith. So far proof of God’s existence these days seems to be attributed to natural disasters smiting non-believers for their sinful lack of belief(as was shown to be the sentiment among many after the Tsunami in South Asia) or far-fetched and obscure tales of some hick yokel in backwoods Alabama claiming to have seen the image of Jesus in a gravy stain, or some person in Italy claiming to see a statue of the Virgin Mary crying tears of blood or something. Hearsay simply doesn’t cut it. There’s no point in putting absolutism and faith in something that cannot be measured by empirical evidence.

Again, it’s obvious this debate is already nothing more than a ping-pong effect of us bouncing our opinions back to one another. I’m just confused, because I was pretty sure that was truthdig.com and not JesusFreaks.com or christiandiscussionboards.com. I guess I was mistaken, therefore I will take my leave.

    Good day to you all

I agree, faith that is seen is no faith at all. You want physical evidence in a world where evidence can be construed to mean to million different things. God showed us proof at one time who Jesus was, Jesus performed miracles His entire life, and people STILL didn’t believe that He was God. So, two thousand years later, why would God do the EXACT same thing when He knows we won’t believe it even when it’s right in front of us? I’m not looking for a debate, because I know that in the end God will win no matter what, so what you or I in the mean time think is highly irrelivant. You want proof that God exists? Look around you. You don’t want the usual stuff that we say? What do you want? You will only accept what you want to hear, which I guess you can turn back on me and say the exact same thing. I have faith, I have God’s love that has kept me alive, God’s strength that He has given me to get through over 19 months of the hospital, I have proof through my life that God exists. I believe that if you need PHYSICAL proof then you won’t accept it. You will not have faith, you will not believe. If you don’t have faith then God is not in you, and if God is not in you then you are blind and cannot possibly hold a breath of hope of ever finding true happiness, love, and strength. The world wants you to believe that there is no hope beyond what we can do as humans. The world wants you to believe that there’s only us, there’s only this.  If you don’t want to accept what I have to say, like I said before, that’s up to you, but God loves you, you may be very tired of hearing this, and that’s a shame. But it’s true.

christianity…. well most people view it in their own opinions… but once you understand where they are comming from then you will start to realize why god is so important to the world… i understand that all you want to see is evidence, but evidence is beyond what we can find… if you were a god and you want your creation to seek you and know that you are the creator, you wouldnt leave your footprints behind right??... because people who believes in this god beleives through faith. i’m sure you are familiar with the word “faith” ... it is “believing without seeing..”  but one thing to be clear though… “Truth” .. it could be my truth.. our truth.. anyone’s truth… but it will always be through “god’s truth” to be true.. we dont force people to accept the truth but we “christians” just want to share to people who dont know about “god’s truth” or heard of “god’s truth…”

we are not looking for a debate partner but we do offer our love through christ jesus… hope you understand where we are comming from..  God Bless

How can you say Christianity isn’t culturally exclusive? Christianity is a culture! Culture is defined as “shared, learned behavior”. You’re telling people that the creator of the universe only approves of one in many shared learned behaviors.

    *sighs*
    *rubs eyes*
If someone wants to debate me about this subject, is it at ALL POSSIBLE THAT YOU CAN ARTICULATE ACTUAL AND FACTUAL EVIDENCE INSTEAD OF READING OFFERS FROM THE BROCHURE? I’ve heard the brochue, I’ve heard the tag-lines many times. I’m bored with the brochure, I want the actual guaranteed evidence of the product that that the brochure talks about. Merely reciting and regurgitating the brochure doesn’t get us anywhere. In fact, that’s what pretty much all of the competition does: reads from the brochure.

There is a difference in refusing to accept your “truth” as you say it or simply not buying it because it’s a load of bologne. We’ve heard it, we accept it’s what you have to say, and we also see it for what it is! Fairy tales! Myths! Legends! Imaginary friends! Superstitions! Contradictions! On the contrary, I would imagine it is you who has a hard time accepting the facts that a bunch of contradicting fairy tales strung together(poorly)in a 2,000 year old book of fabrications doesn’t hold much water in a 21st Century world.

Okay, I know I said I wasn’t going to say anything more, but there are some things that you need to understand. First off, Christianity is NOT culturally exclusive, if you did a little bit of research you would know that “us” (which has no meaning to me) Christians are reaching out to thousands of people around the world on missions trips, thousands of people within the us such as homeless shelters and on the street. There is nothing to be exclusive about when it comes to Christianity, we are with open arms, it’s YOU that has to accept what we have to say. If you don’t accept that Jesus Christ is God, then that’s your problem, not ours. Second, yes, you will hear me say the same things, why? Because there is only one Truth, Jesus Christ is King of the whole universe and everything in it. The reason why so many people are responding exactly the way you thought they would is because you don’t want to hear or accept what we have to say. So once again, that problem is yours, not mine, or anyone else’s. That’s up to YOU to take up with God, not me, or any other “culturally exclusive” Christian in the world. If your life ends in destruction, that is your own fault, not anyone else’s, and I’m going to say that Jesus is always willing to forgive you, but you have to be willing to trust that He will forgive you, and believe that you can live a new life through Him. In the End of Days, which according to prophecy is very soon (Peace in the middle east is the next prophecy to be fulfilled), you will HAVE to answer to Jesus, EVERYONE will, Christian or not. You say you won’t now, but you haven’t witnessed the amazing power of God. HE created you, and HE WANTS you to know that and to believe it. If you don’t listen to what I’m saying, or to what anyone else says, then it’s your own doing. I tried, so did everyone else. But, to make one thing extremely clear: I’m not going to be quiet about Jesus, and in the end, Jesus will win, whether you like it or not. You can say this is hate all you want, it is love. You just don’t know what true love is. And you won’t until you repent to God, Jesus Christ. The world will lie to you, make you believe in WORLDLY things, and they are doing a very good job of deceiving you. Answer one question: If the world has all the answers, why isn’t there world peace yet? Why are unborn babies being murdered (90 million each year)?  Why are suicides on the rise? Why are drug addicts on the rise???? You think we preach hate, but do the math. Who has more love, Christians, who want to see them be saved through the loving power of Jesus Christ, or the world, who couldn’t care less about the people in it?

Renee, I already predicted your response before you even wrote it! I knew you would spew out the usual gibberish about how wonderful and loving your imaginary friend is. You used the exact same circular logic of “How can you say there is no god? Look around you!” haha! Well, I’m sorry….but I’m a little too old for imaginary friends! And Mormons aren’t really Christian? Well, according to Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and the thousands of other Mormons living today it is you who are not the true Christians….see what I’m getting at? All religions, all faiths claim infallibility and truth over the others, even though those others do exactly the same. And I’ve already read Genesis(a silly snorefest, considering the world has been proven to be much older than 6,000 years)can you back up what Sunsara pointed out about the oh-so-lovely passages of Deuteronomy 21:18-21 and 22:13-21 as well as Peter 2:18 and Leviticus 25:44-26 which explicitly support corporal punishment against women and children and support the practice of slavery? Probably not.

Maybe it’s time you learned the joys of Pastafarianism Renee! Maybe it’s time you’re learned and accepted the love of our Lord Squiggly , the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Or Jimbo, the purple dragon who lives in a chocolate castle on the moon! Or whatever else I can fabricate into a bullcrap religion and dupe people into believing a false reality! Hey, worked for L. Ron Hubbard right?

Rob how can u say that there is no God? look around you… how do u explain this earth? the big bang? there was a big bang! when god said bang and spoke us into existance. read Genisis 1 buddy. Jesus loves everyone. He loves whites, black, asians, jews, mormons (they aren’t christian), terrorist, murderers, gays, lesbians, sinners of all kind. he loves everyone. He loves them but He hates the sin. We are not anti gay. Jesus loves the gays. He just hates the sin. And they aren’t born like that. It is not a desease. God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Abortion is Murder. And one more thing Rob, I’m praying that the Lord would supernaturally reveal Himself to you and prove Himself to you. Because you won’t choose Jesus. But He will choose you. He has such a wonderful like for you and for everyone reading this article. Jesus is coming to America! Rise up Bride of Christ!

Jeff, Michael, all of you responded exactly the way I expected. Constantly preaching your bogus “values” and “morals”, putting words in my mouth and still fawning over your culturally-exclusive anthropomorphic being and his crucified zombie/savior son.

Jeff, I never said I was pro-abortion. In fact, I honestly couldn’t give a rat’s ass about abortion. Like I said, it’s a fairly minimal issue in the whole worldly scenario of human suffering. I’m not a woman, it’s not my call. If my mother aborted me, well, I would be dead….what’s your point? You pro-lifers use pointless circular logic. In fact, all people are technically “pro-life” and “pro-choice”, it’s for or against abortion that is your stance. You seem anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war but I wouldn’t be surprised if you voted for him because of his idiotic “what would Jesus do?” speech. You’re right about corporate corruption and the fact that this country needs a coup big time. Bush is a liberal in a conservative suit? Ahhh, so what would be a true conservative? Reagan? Whose trickle-down Reaganomics screwed us big time? Who helped arm and fund the enemies we are facing now? Who gets credit for ending the Soviet Union because he spent the hell out of us? Who granted amnesty to thousands of illegal immigrants? And suddenly I’m a supporter of the ACLU? Nice way to put words in my mouth, jackass.

Of course, it’s pointless to argue with a bunch of superstitious folks such as yourself. I expected a bunch of tiresome boring garbage about “Ohhhh Jesus loves you! He wants you to be in Heaven! Blah blah blah”....please spare me your culturally-exclusive omnipotent being nonsense. If this was 2,000 years ago you would be promoting Mithras(the original Jesus)or Wotan. If we were in Morocco you would be singing praises Allah and his prophet Mohammed. If we were in India you would be cheerfully telling of your devotion to Lord Shiva or Rama or Krishna or whatever. All religions are the same. They all believe the creator of the universe authored their book, and they all believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. Well guess what….THEY’RE ALL WRONG. There is no God people! That’s what I mean about 21st century thinking! It’s pathetic that we as a species haven’t learned to discard a bunch of superstitious nonsense from time periods that were rife with ignorance, oppression and fear. There is no way to prove the existence of this culturally-exclusive anthropomorphic deity you speak of, no empirical evidence whatsoever. The only way you can back up his existence is with the usual circular logic(“Well, why do you think we’re all here?”)or by flipping through the pages of your holy books and using some silly fairy tale detailing an event that supposedly happened thousands of years ago, but those said events don’t seem to happen today. Battlecry is merely a politicized youth organization branch perpetuating the same tiresome ancient lie that serves us no purpose in this day and age.

So to you I say continue with your belief that the creator of the universe favors white conservatives with money and dopey kids who hold rallies on the spot where Harvey Milk was murdered, because while you continue to do so millions of Arabs believe the creator of the universe favors young men who strap explosives to themselves and blow up public market places. Ohhh, but I forgot…they have it wrong, right?

i dunno what you are sick of? because ill tell you what i am sick of. im sick of this generation believing the lies that the media feeds them to get our money. i am sick of how all my friends are wearing there hearts on their sleeves and getting into relationships they have no business getting into. i am sick of the 4000 babies that get aborted everyday by my generation. i am sick of the way this country worships money like it is god. i am sick of how we beg to keep the 10 commandments on the wall when the truth of the matter is that we have jesus christ. that he came and died on the cross so that the law, the ten commandments could be obeyed. we are such an unholy people. we fall so short of the glory of god. sin is so enticing. and it people just allow the devil to grab a hold of what is inside of them and anger and bitterness spills out of you toward my Christian friends because you have yet to experience the love of Jesus. Sure everyone has tasted religion and works but when Jesus Christ becomes your Lord and Savior, when you feel His presence and power and it transforms the very core of who you are you just don’t care what anyone will say and do. A radical prophetic is rising up. A Judah Generation known for their wild and crazy praise for Jesus. Because Jesus Christ is King. He is the Lord. The Creator. And I just challenge you and beckon you to awaken to the affect of the Father’s heart toward you. Jesus loved you so much that He came and He was brutally beaten so that you could be healed everywhere you hurt. Then He died as He hung naked on the cross so that you wouldn’t have to. But it goes much further than that. He conquered death and ascended into Heaven and He is coming back for His beautiful Bride, His children and we will spend eternity with Him. So, be sick and tired of church normalsy. Be sick and tired of religion. Be sick and tired of compromise and the consequences of sin. But I pray be infected with the presence and the power of God. That the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead would quicken your mortal bodies and open your eyes to hear what the Spirit of God is saying to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Maybe you don’t know Jesus, but after reading this you want to give your life to Jesus. Pray this prayer after me. Mean it with all your heart and watch Jesus reveal Himself to you because He is real and He alone is God.

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You came to earth 2,000 years ago. I believe you died for me on the cross and shed Your blood for my salvation. I believe you rose from the dead and ascended on high. I believe You are coming back again to earth. Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. Forgive my sin. Cleanse me now with Your precious blood. Come into my heart. Save my soul right now. I give you my life. I receive You now as my Savior, my Lord, and my God. I am Yours forever, and I will serve You and follow You the rest of my days. From this moment on, I belong to You only. I no longer belong to this world, nor to the enemy of my soul. I belong to You, and I am born again. Amen!

By praying this prayer, confessing your sins, and receiving Jesus Christ into your heart, God has given you the right to become His forgiven child. The Bible gives you this assurance: “But as many as received him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name” (John 1:12).

If you have just received Jesus Christ into your life, we want to rejoice with you. Congrats! Welcome to the family! <33

Well, Sunsara, on several points you are evidence of the Bible’s accuracy: “knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts.” (2 Peter 3:3) Surely,“even is our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God should shine on them.” (2 Cor.4:4) See you no hypocrisy in defaming our heroic soldiers in Iraq who are keeping the war of terrorism off of our soil for a time, while also fighting to protect the freedoms of Iraqis (which you obviously “see” differently), while condemning millions of innocent unborn babies to a barbaric death?? You are also evidence of 2 Timothy 3:1-4 - “But know in the last days perilous times will come;  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unfor-giving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”  But be encouraged, Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save the world, so that we ALL sinners may be redeemed from the fatal consequences and due punishment for our sins. (John 3:17, Romans 3:23,6;23).  Sunsara, how you have misunderstood who the real enemy is! True Christians know that people are not the enemy.  We hate no one but the enemy of our souls.  We know that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”  (2 Cor. 6:12-13)  As Jesus did we hate the sin, but love the sinner.  You know I attended both the Democratic and Republican conventions in our last presidential election.  Let me tell you what an eye-opener it was.  The gay community as well as pro-abortionists behaved most hatefully, spewing out vile, blashphemous venoum especially on us Christians who were there to share a message of love and hope in Christ.  We did as Christ did, turned the other cheek, but they were not satisfied.  The anger and speech only became louder and more hateful.  But I knew, and I know, they are but vessels for the real enemy, as surely as I am a vessel for the living God.  The Bible tells us things will actually get worse. We are truly in a war, but it is a spritual war more than anything.  By the way, have you read the PREAMBLE to our constitution that says “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are CREATED equal and are endowed by OUR CREATOR by certain unalienable rights, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happinees.”  Though you and I define those rights quite differently and mine definitly include the right to life for our most innocent and vulnerable, the child in the womb, you cannot deny God in the forming of our constitution, which I could say much more on, but for time will leave it at that.  Sunsara, believe it or not, God loves you and so do I.  And one day “every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:11-12) You are in my prayers that you come to know Him and confess Him before you leave this earth.  I pray too that all your energy will be used to fight the real enemy who “comes to kill, steal and destroy.”  By the way the Old Testament verses that you have gotten so worked up about need to be understood in the context of that time and God who knew man’s inclinations.  We are under a New Covenant that still says sin is an abomination to God, but offers us to come to Him for the free gift of His payment for those sins. It’s our choice to receive freely or reject such incredible GRACE!

First of all to stoning gays, that was in the old testament; when Jesus hadnt come to die for our sins. okay but back then look at it this way; with every action there is a consequence, think about that should they NOT have been punished back then. okay you might not be familiar with this but the very Holy room where the ark of the covenant is, not even priest could go in that room, every year the people offered their purist lamb to the priest and then ask for forgivness for all there sin then the priest goes to the holy room, not the very holy room and sacrifices that to God. now there is a curtain hanging to seperate the purity of the very holy room and the holy room; as soon as Jesus died on the cross, that curtain ripped in two and fell to the ground. they didn’t need that anymore. your way to forgivness is through prayer and the bible. and as for docter susan, we are not a bunch of hypocrites. No WE do not allow people to die in the war on terror, they signed up they knew the risk, but also not everybody can go to heaven. satin doesn’t allow that. if it wasnt for him the world would be perfect, but when satin in the form of a serpant teampted eve, and she listened sin came into the world. but it was Gods plan all along, i love you despite you commenting negativly on my faith in God. anyways God knew you from the moment the world began he knew what your name was, your occupation and EVERYTHING that you would do. NO God made us with our arms long enough to do that. its a choice its not forced on you, who decides they are going to masturbate? is it God? no it is you. Besides you being wrong i still love you. no matter who or what you have done against God. You think we are hypocrits? well you should go to a battlecry event. visit the website. There is still hope for you.
I am not a loser! you call us hypocrits, why dont you take a look at what you wrote. and as for us being facist. are we forcing you to be a christian??? NO!!! we are not we are trying to lead you to the right path.

It isn’t right to associate your political views with your religious views. The fact that you disagree with the war doesn’t have anything to do with Battle Cry.

Also, sexual temptation is a battle that all guys face. not only guys, girls do too. And modesty is a choice that girls make to have respect for our Christian brothers. You speak against rape, yet say that it is wrong to have high sexual standards for young men?? How does that follow?

Your views on the war should not directly connect with Battle Cry. They do not stand up there and express political standpoints. And they sure as hell are not brainwashing teens out of thinking for themselves. Smart teens go because they know a God who holds a higher standard than what we see here in America.

This piece is completely out of line.

    So, wanting to be good
    is bad?
(then why do we have laws)
    wanting to love
    is wrong?
(why are you married? why do you love friends, family?)

caring for someone’s life is evil?
(why do you care when your best friend is hurting?)
being against murdering an innocent, helpless, person who has no choice, no opinion, is hateful?
(then why are people sent to prison for murder?)
    singing to someone is stupid?
(when you sang to your husband/wife countless times)
desiring to live for something more
    is idiotic?
    (then why are we here?)
And is it sooo wrong that we are filled with joy and love and can’t contain it?
    why is it wrong?

    having morals is despicable?

I think the real reason is that you guys know you’re missing something…and you’re scared that you might be wrong.

“this world and all it desires passes away but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 john 2:17

love on, Christian siblings, love on
    live ready, live as Christ,
    never ceasing to love.

“Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”

Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.  (john 12: 27-29)

Okay, first off, in the 1980’s, the world’s population was nearly 5 billion, NOT 1 billion (again, do your homework, get your facts straight) Second, yes, I did say that we need to keep the world’s population down, and I’m still saying that. As for the abortion thing, I don’t agree with it by any means, but neither do I agree with women having sex whenever the heck they want and have as many babies as they want- many of them can’t take care of their kids, so they put them up for adoption or put them into social services, sucking money from the government that could be used for better things, like feeding people, or social security. People need to take responsibility.
And as far as the liberal mindset goes, Jesus is not a mindset, He is God, and those of you who think otherwise ARE wrong, that’s all there is to it. If you don’t agree with me, them I’m sorry, that’s your problem, and I pray that you repent of your sins and follow Christ before the end. I don’t know what else to say. I’m not giving up on you, I will continue to pray for you and love you as Jesus does, but I don’t think this website is getting anything accomplished. Jesus is King, He is our Lord and Savior, He died so we wouldn’t have to go to Hell, and He loves us. He didn’t come to this world to condemn it, but to save it. Satan has a stronger hold on this world now than ever before, and that’s because humans tend to think that they can save themselves from destruction, the world doesn’t like to think that they aren’t in control of it’s own fate. The world’s fate has already been written, whether you like it or not. It’s in the Bible. It’s never too late to repent, to accept Jesus. He loves you, I love you, and nothing you say or do can change that. If you want to live in a world as sick as this one, and accept that there isn’t anything else for us out there, then fine, that’s your choice, no one else can make it but you. If you think you don’t believe in anything, you’re wrong, even athiests believe in something- they believe that there is no God and that we are it. Religion is mankinds way of searching for God, Christianity IS the ONLY way to God, the ONLY way to eternal life. I know that there will be some people who will twist what I say and make it sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about, and you know who you are. But, I’m going to leave you with this: Jesus Christ is God of the entire world, the God of YOU, He loves you, He wants to be with you, but you have to want the same thing, just as in any relationship. God is closer than you think, and He loves you more than you will ever know.

As far as 21st century mindset goes, sorry pal. I don’t buy it. As with any liberal, the only correct mindset is the liberal one- be it 18th century or 21st. You really think things are better in Europe? They depend on the rest of the world for everything they have. They can’t feed themselves, defend themselves, and depend on oil just as much as we do- which they cannot produce. Europeans MUST cowtow to the rest of the world just to survive. They will always be everything to everybody, with the “why can’t we just all get along” mentality, while trying to control everything they can. Europeans are always in “survival mode”- more now than ever before. Is that your 21st century mindset? If you step out of your utopian European society, you can explore the rest of the world and discover hundreds of mindsets in hundreds of countries, most of which do NOT mirror that of Europe. America is not Europe. It is the 18th century mindset that so disgusts you that made America the great country it “was” is the first place! It is the 18th century mindset that drafted the Decloration of Independence AND the Constitution! Likewise, it is the 21st century mindset people like you are pushing that is taking us down the same path as the Europeans, with the same eventual end- total takeover by a totalitarian regime. Your hero and ultimate advocate, the ACLU, is a Communist organization, bent on erasing GOD out of our culture and instilling a GODLESS society, just as Stalin, Pol Pot and all other Communists regimes have done before it. Total dependence on the “state” is necessary to instill iron-fisted control over it’s subjects. From the raising of your children to what dingy state-run apartment you will sleep at night, to which GULAG you will be improsned in for speaking or even THINKING contrary to the beliefs of your secular “benefactors” and which warehouse you will stand in front of for days waiting for a piece of moldy bread. THERE IS THE CULMINATION OF YOUR 21st CENTURY MINDSET!!!

And to be honest, and thank God I can still write this without being shot by secret police (hopefully), I really think Bush is a liberal in conservative clothing pushing us to that very end. He is a liar and a thief, and just as Clinton did before him, Bush sold America out AGAIN to the highest bidder. Clinton’s being China (Chinagate, Los Alamos, the Panama Canal), Bush’s being the Military Industrialists, banking and oil industries. They are both traitors and thoroughly corrupt, as are most of our Senators and State Representatives. We should all peel ourselves away from the TV, march on Washington with our monster trucks and shotguns, and kick their corrupt, fat asses out of office. That would get our troops out of Iraq I bet! A new governement should formed BY the people and FOR THE PEOPLE, not BY special interests and FOR special interests! Abortion, gay marriage and illegal aliens would be put up for Democratic vote- and the people would be have to live with the result, no matter how much it pisses the other side off. But, I suppose that is only an “18th century mindset,” eh?

    For the previous commenter-

In your post, you indicate that you are pro-abortion in order to control the population? You were born- obviously. Why didn’t your mother abort you? How close was she in making that decision? aren’t you so lucky she “chose” life over death, so you can write about your opinions regarding over-population. In 1980, when the world reached 1 billion people, Time magazine headlined an article stating the entire world was on the very BRINK of dying of starvation! We are now 5 billion people later. I guess we didn’t starve ourselves out of existence after all. Now it’s GLOBAL WARMING WILL KILL US ALL!! However, I do concede Pro-abortionists can win the argument, hands down… IF they can PROVE CONCLUSIVELY that what you are aborting is NOT a human being. Otherwise, abortion is murder. Regardless of how others are being killed in the war in Iraq, the killing of an innocent HUMAN BEING is murder, no matter how many BILLIONS of us there are on this planet. Killing HUMAN BEINGS to control the population is MURDER, regardless of how you justify it. If you believe this is the correct action, in any way shape or form, then you advocate murder.

Abortion rights advocate’s state “The right to privacy” allows a woman the right to choose, their argument is not whether or not a fetus is an actual HUMAN BEING. Being Human is not even their point. Well, the writer of the article is correct- GOD is not mentioned in the constitution… but NEITHER is “THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY!!” Liberals want it both ways, and they want it all. Since GOD is not in control of a Liberal secularists destiny, guess what- PEOPLE are. People affect how a secularist lives his/her life. PEOPLE must be CONTROLLED, so as not to be able to interfere with the liberal opinion, or will to do whatever they deem correct. The only way to control people is through laws. The more laws, the more control. What liberals don’t realize is there is less freedom in their way of life than with the Christian, whom most would advocate less laws and more freedom of choice, as Christ advocated. Christ NEVER forced ANYONE to follow him, whereas Liberals are FORCING religion out of our society through any and every means they can, thereby limiting the very freedom of choice they say they are fighting for. What is clear- Liberals don’t advocate freedom of choice. They are ramming their way of life down our throats, just as they accuse Christians of doing.

It never ceases to amaze me at how America is seemingly the last bastion of evangelical fundamentalist thought. As the nations of Europe, who once lead the charge of Christianity, are slowly discarding the superstitious of the past and moving to a more secular future, America has all of these factions and subfactions of neo-evangelicals who prance around preaching the Gospel as if it’s some cool new thing to do.
Michael seems to contradict himself when he claims that Acquire the Fire isn’t trying to achieve a theocracy and then goes on to say how everyone needs to be Christian. And as for this nonsense about the Founding Fathers founding this country on Biblical principles, nowhere in the Constitution does it say the word “God” anywhere. Thomas Jefferson was pretty clear about religion and state. The first colonists were, after all, a persecuted religious minority, wouldn’t it be counterproductive to repeat the same thing that Great Britain. Additionally, it could also be argued that this country was founded on pre-Christian Greek and Roman principles, right?
BattleCry have every right to voice their message, but it is not a message a 21st century America needs.
The very second BattleCry’s followers start voicing their concerns about “morality” is when I start getting concern. Why Christians continue to think that they alone own the rights to morality I will never know. Is it moral to own slaves? Or to sell your daughter into sexual servitude? Is it moral to kill those who work on the Sabbath? All of these “morals” are written in the Bible, which is why it’s ironic when it is referred to as the “good book” when it is evident that people decide which parts are good and which parts shouldn’t be mentioned. The “immoral” aspects BattleCry is complaining about are the most nontrivial: homosexuality, pop culture, abortion, etc. Pop culture is one of BattleCry’s targets, which is surprising, since it’s young members seem to very much enjoy pop culture. They have the coolest ringtones, the hippest haircuts(check out the mohawk on the guy in San Francisco), the nicest designer jeans. BattleCry really isn’t against pop culture, they’re against non-Christian pop culture. They think America’s decline is tied in to Victoria’s Secret ads, not illegal CIA prisons in Europe or the loss of individual rights. As for abortion, it still perplexes me how such a relatively IRRELEVANT issue in the whole global scheme of things is the constantly the number one gripe of these people. What about overpopulation? What about the ALREADY-born? As Bill Hicks once said “If you’re so pro-life do me a favor, don’t lock arms and block med clinics, lock arms and block graveyards.” I also get surprised when I see an anti-abortion rally and see several of people there with yellow ribbons on their SUV’s. It’s not okay to kill an unborn unconscious fetus, but I guess it’s okay to support an illegal war that has sent many already-born children to an early grave. But, since those said children are non-Christian, non-American, and non-white, they may not qualify for sympathy or defense.
Anyways, the poor deluded kids of BattleCry can prance around the cities of this country all they want, praising an imaginary mythical being in the sky and complaining about secular pop culture being the seed of corruption all they want, it is their right as Americans. But hopefully they will wake up one day and understand that an 18th Century mindset is the last thing we need in the 21st Century.

    You made some interesting comments.

I am an ultra-conservative christian homeschooler (ooooh, evil, fascism!), as such I think Bush is a moron who I would not vote for if he ran again. But that’s not what Battlecry is about. Battlcry is not about stoning gays, prostitutes, Muslims, or any thing else. It’s not even about getting them out of the US. Hell, i’m struggling very deeply with both bisexuality and mastrubation. It’s a sin, same as stealing, lying or murder. All Battlecry is about is retuning kids to better morals.

This year, Ron Luce asked everyone who wanted to get rid of their secular things to come forward and to put them into gigantic boxes- and they threw them away. After that, he said to replace those things that the kids threw away with things that worship God. And I’ll tell you, there were a LOT of things that those kids got rid of- and you know what??? When they came back, most of them were smiling, relieved that they don’t have to worry about trying to impress their friends, and focusing now on living their lives for God and pleasing Him. There was a speaker at the event that I went to, his name was Mike Guzzardo, and one of the things he said was “You don’t have to cut yourself to get rid of the pain, give the pain to God, He knows what to do with it.” God can heal, and this message is for everyone. Jesus Christ can and will heal you if you let Him. And this healing isn’t a theocracy, it’s a way of life, it’s happiness and peace.
Answer this question, have you noticed, over the years, kids going downhill in their behavior, their demeanor, thneir attitude? Compare kids today with kids from a hundred years ago, and you’ll see a BIG difference. Kids a hundred years ago grew up with Biblical principals, went to Church, put Jesus first. Over the years, people thought that they should be first, that people were more important than God. That’s when the drug abuse started, that’s when alcoholism became an epidemic, that’s when depression became huge, that’s when society changed for the worse- and kids today who are Bible believing Christians are saying “Enough! We want a change! We want to worship and live for the one who created us! Not for some people who could care less about us, who are only interested in us for our money!”
If anyone is trying to create a theocracy its The World Cant Wait, they are the ones who are trying to take over the government, trying to change the way people think. Do a comparison. Watch the video, visit this website and listen http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=74784489, look at some pictures over the web, not just from one website, go to different web sites, and you’ll see that this organization cares for America’s youth, and are passionate about what they do

I agree with Kelsie, as long as you believe Jesus is your Lord and Savior, and you live your life based on Biblical principals, then you won’t go to hell. Acquire the Fire, Christians, we aren’t trying to CHANGE the constitution, we’re trying to get BACK TO the constitution. You see, organizations like The World Can’t Wait, THEY are the ones trying to change the constitution, by telling Christians that they are fascists, unaccepting, exclusive, trying to say that gay marriage is okay, and that Christians need to sit down and be quiet while The World Can’t Wait, and their supporters walk all over us- offending our rights of a peaceful protest by telling us that we are wrong and that they are right-resorting to verbal violence against a group of teens that were only there to pray.
And as for the theocracy thing, over two hundred years ago the founding fathers created our country based on the bible, using the ten commandments to create the laws we have today. No one is wanting a theocracy, Acquire the Fire isn’t about creating a theocracy. True, we all need to recognize that Jesus CREATED us, we are HIS creations, which means he IS our ruler, but, we aren’t pushing that into people’s faces (The world cant wait is DEFINETLY in your face about their ideas, condemning you if you don’t agree with them, Christians don’t do that, Acquire the Fire doesn’t do that) Our government, right now, is on a collision course with disaster. Not just the federal government, but state governments as well. With legalized abortion, fatal attempts to legalize gay marriage that a majority of america DOESNT want, stem cell research, people are trying to BECOME God, and look at where it’s getting us- no where. People don’t see that if someone is born with cancer then it was MEANT to happen, that there is a purpose for that to happen.
And, on the scientific side, if everyone lives forever, or for at least a hundred years, there won’t be enough food for everyone, people will starve. With the abortion, there is NO REASON why you need to kill a baby, that baby has a future, and if you don’t want the baby, DONT HAVE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Acquire the Fire isn’t about creating a theocracy, but about trying to create a Christian voice that is strong, because we aren’t going to go silent while the rest of the world is hurtling towards destruction. When you walk into the mall, you see Victoria displaying all of her secrets, and that isn’t okay! It leads to sinful thoughts, which eventually induces sinful behavior, which can lead to a crappy lifestyle. An addictive lifestyle where you put that person in front of God, I know this, because I was there for a very long time. I was miserable, and I know that others who are in that position are miserable as well and want answers, hope, and freedom.

Okay I took a look at your site and concede that some of my original notions where wrong and maybe it’s not all bad. I am still very concerned though that you want to change the constitution and create a theocracy. We have a seperation of church and state and it needs to be respected. I also think that there is some good in all faiths and that it is a bit narrowminded to say that everybody who does not go to church goes to hell.

Check out http://www.battlecry.com, explore the site, do your homework, read some of the different Battleplans that people post stating how they will make a difference in their communites.
Teen Mania, which runs Acquire the Fire, did donate money to the Katrina relief efforts, they donated nearly one million dollars in goods, money, clothes, and food. They couldn’t get it to Louisianna right away because they had to wait until the storm cleared. During each of the ATF events, there was a video stating that volunteers were desperately needed, Teen Mania recognized how important it was to help and support those people in the south, and they rushed forward to help, I know, I was there.  The Bible needs to be taken at face value, think of it as reading a manual “Okay, well, it says not to stick my hand into the socket because I’ll get electrocuted, but…. that sounds a bit extreme, I shouldn’t listen to it.” ZZAAPP!! You’re toast. Now, there’s a difference between taking the Bible at face value and taking the whole thing literally. Stoning people isn’t acceptable, having slaves isn’t acceptable, because we’re all the same in God’s eyes. But, when the Bible says that the only way into Heaven is through the Son, you need to take that seriously. When the Bible says that Christians are in the world but they are not of the world, that needs to be taken seriously too. The Bible is a manual on life, it is how everyone should live. Now, you used those two examples, can you list any more? Or are those just some examples you saw on another web site and figured you’d just go with it without doing your homework? You need to recognize the importance of saving today’s youth, they are heading for trouble! They are- in many ways- already in trouble! With suicides increasing, self mutilation, eating disorders, depression, and alcohol sex and drug abuse, the world is sick! It’s sick because it thinks that it can exist perfectly without God, when it can’t! It’s proven over and over again that it can’t! The love of God is powerful, Jesus saves lives because He, and only He, gives true hope and healing. The world doesn’t have the answers. Teen Mania is trying to say that. But they are doing so much more than saying. They are doing something about it, making a difference in over 200,000 lives each year. Giving people the message of God, hope for salvation, healing, renewal. That’s why there’s pictures of kids crying, because God sees their pain, and is able to heal it, and change their lives forever.

I think that the bible taken at face value can be dangerous and I think that the real moral crises in this country is with what is going on in Iraq and the fact that there is widespread poverty from hurricane katrina. I think that a true christian would oppose these things.

You’re forgetting, that the Bible was written over 1500 years ago. Back then, the stoning of non-virgin brides and having slaves WAS okay. You seem to think that the Bible was written recently. Back then, things were completely different. And as for the person in the military get-up, that’s just ONE act-that’s all it is. It was just some one who wanted to show the teens a METAPHOR of endurance. Ron Luce doesn’t encourage violence, all you’re seeing is a picture. You have no idea what was said, what the idea behind the military get-up was….. all you’re going on is a picture, basically, you have nothing on which to base your opinion on. And, I agree, some Christians ARE hypocrits, I’ve seen a lot of people of say one thing and do another, who claim they’re Christians and yet have sex before marriage-they aren’t the ones who are creating a good example, and I’m sorry that you think that all Christians are like that, because there are a lot who aren’t. Personally, I could care less about whether or not you like Acquire the Fire, because it’s going to continue to happen whether you like it or not. All I ask is that you get your facts straight before you start bashing something that’s done a LOT of good.

Um…... another attempt by President Bush??? Lol, that’s a good one! It may be shocking for you to know that Acquire the Fire (Battlecry) has been around a LOT longer than President Bush has been in office. And “Battlecry” (why do you call it that, anyway? it’s actual name is Acquire the Fire) has nothing to do with the military, or fighting, or crime. You’re the fool, thinking that you can trick people into believing a lie, you obviously have never been to an ATF event, you’ve never spoken with anyone who has gone there, I’m willing to bet that you are bored, happened to stumble upon this site, read an opinion of someone who has never gone to an ATF event, figured they were right since they’ve never gone, and thought “Well, this person MUST be right since these three pictures tell the entire story!” PEOPLE, before you post crap like what Freethought posted, ATTEND an ENTIRE weekend of an ATF event, because if you don’t, your opinions are worthless.
That’s like saying Football is stupid if you’ve never seen or played the sport. You just DON’T have all of the information, so how can you be sure that you’re right???
Fellow Christians, continue to fight the lie. The battle for your souls is only going to get harder as time moves on, with the world wanting to be free to do what it wants- it’s pushing God out of the picture altogether-and look at what’s happening! A world without God is going to be scary, dangerous, and depressing. Last year, Ron Luce told us that we have to be warriors for Christ. Now biggots, this doesn’t mean that we are going to pick up guns and blow everyone away. This means that we have to dig into the Bible each day, pray for our generation, ignore the lies that are rammed down our throats, pray for those who deceive us, forgive those who hurt us, go out there and put ourselves on the frontlines and say “ENOUGH! I’M NOT GOING TO LET THIS GO ON ANYMORE! JESUS CHRIST IS MY GOD AND I’M NOT GOING TO FOLLOW ANY ONE ELSE!” That is what “Battlecry” is all about, making a difference in our generation so that millions of souls are not lost. If you don’t believe me, then you are the fool. If you are willing to have faith in things that you can see, then you really have no faith at all. The only real faith is when you have no proof, when you have to go based on what you feel is right, based on what God is doing in your life.
We need to bear the Mark of a Warrior, those of you who went to ATF know what I’m talking about. Those of you who didn’t don’t know, the mark of a warrior is a symbolic mark that sets us apart from the rest of the world which is headed for destruction. Christians are not of the world, we live in the world, but we don’t live based on the world’s standards. Living like Christ is having the mark of a warrior.
It really does shock me how ignorant people can be, if you don’t agree with what “Battlecry” is doing, then, TOUGH! Who are you to judge what we do? We don’t judge you, and if there are Christians that do judge, then I’m really sorry, they aren’t very good examples. We do what we do because it’s our PASSION, it’s our LOVE to follow Christ, NOT because President Bush is trying to deceive us into joining the military. It’s what God calls us to do.

my dear brother, Michael, How glad I am that one day we will see eachother in Heaven at the Lord’s feet. It’s heartbreaking how similar our lives are. I too went through depression, and eating disorders, I was never hospitalized, only because no one in my family noticed. I was at the point where I attempted suicideon my bathroom floor, but for some reason, I remember the feeling as I sobbed on the cold floor, feeling alone, fat, and unloved, unwanted, unnoticed, and then for that moment, I felt these loving arms entangle me, and I honestly can Say that Christ was in that bathroom, I felt HIs glory and because of that I am saved.

Because of that I am ALIVE. Not only physically but also spiritually, I argued with GOD that night, Begging Him to take me into Heaven with him because no one loved me enough, but HE told me he had a plan. I listened.

Since then, my outlook has changed, I was 13, I’m almost 17, and Christ just took my heart ablaze with passion. I know that His plan for me is to be a missionary in SUdan. A nurse. I’m going to school for it, I graduated early, I went on a mission trip this summer to Europe and experienced miracles that only God could do; healing the sick, the hurt, and taking away all pain.

Christ is amazing. His love is Humbling. I am no longer filled with fear, hurt, and neither am I depressed and sad, everyone smiles in disbelief when they hear my story because they think of me as the happy joyful person I am now; sure, I get depressed sometimes, but I know that I have a friend, JEsus, that will help me through it, surely he was depressed when he was dying.

Christ is truly the most amazing person, the only person, you can really trust, the only person who unconditionally loves you, no matter what your crap.

    He is.

Jesus saved my life, more times than I can even count. Before I came to Him, I was suicidal, had an eating disorder for six years, been depressed for over a decade, and was in the hospital over twenty times. When I found Jesus, He radically changed my life forever, I am no longer thinking of myself as fat and worthless, I love myself because Jesus loves me, and though its a hard battle each day, it’s important that Jesus is in control of my life. I’ve been posting a LOT of messages about the love of God for months because GOD IS LOVE! This world is filled with nothing but lies, the world doesn’t care if we live or die! I’ve tried living my life without Christ, and I nearly died several times, and you know what? If I died, I would have been lost forever. I was released from the hospital 4 months ago, after being in there for 19 months, and the entire time I heard the pain and cried of those who didn’t have Jesus, their misery, torment, their wish to die because they didn’t have anything or anyone to go to. The lies that are posted at the top of this page are a testament that the world is filled with nothing but destruction and hate. if you look at the Christian postings, they are all filled with love. And as I said, the person who posted that message isn’t fooling ANYONE with his/her lies. Brothers and sisters in Christ, don’t listen to the lies, because the lies will kill you, I can promise that. Run to Him, He’s stading there with open arms, ready to fill you with His love. You just have to accept it.
For the longest time, I thought I was worthless, because the people of this world said so. Ever since I was a child, I was told that I wasn’t worth anything, I was abused, neglected, hated by people simply because I was depressed. The day I went to Acquire the Fire (Battlecry) is the day my life changed. I was eighteen, just a few months ago, when I decided to not look back, because there is NOTHING TO GO BACK TO. The world doesn’t care about us, as Ron Luce said. All the world wants is money and fame and power, and people will do almost anything to achieve that. I didn’t spend nearly two years in hospitals to just go to another one and another hospital after that. I’ve been released, without meds, and I’m doing better than I have my entire life. And it’s all because of the miracle of God, of Jesus my Lord! He saved my life, I found peace and life through Him, and if I had one chance to tell you something, I would say that you are loved so much more than you will ever know. As Christmas approaches, use this time to think about how God has changed your life, or perhaps even saved it from destruction, death, and pain. He’s saved me, He’s saved a few friends of mine, and He can save you as well. Find some GOOD Christian friends who are deeply ingrained in the Bible, find a good youth pastor who can help you with each step on your journey. My youth pastor stopped at nothing to help me, he would drive 90 miles just to visit me, 30 miles when I was closer to home EVERY WEEK to bring me to youth group and to Church. Pray, don’t expect things to happen right away, or even in a week, month or a year. It’ll all happen at the perfect time. God’s Time. When it was meant to happen. And I promise you that your life will be totally different, for the better.

“Youth will not find the morality they need in a stadium listening to [BattleCry founder] Ron Luce preach about religious war and intolerance.”

Thousands of Youth including myself have found the morality that’s needed through these events. Youth will not find the morality they need by watching people have sex and get abortions and smoke weed and do drugs on TV shows.

“These young people need to be challenged to look around themselves and think for themselves.”

And where do you suppose they look? MTV isn’t doing young people any good. Battle Cry holds rock concerts; compare those songs and bands to the ones you find on TV being fed to young people. Songs about hope and love vs. songs about drugs, songs about the lack of hope, songs about treating woman and other people like objects just to satisfy a TEMPORARY urge. There’s not one bit of hate in these rallies and events. All I read through that whole article were assumptions, based on quotes and Bible versus that you obviously don’t know the true meaning to. There’s a difference between war on sexual temptation and homosexuality and war on actual people and homosexuals. Nobody said anything hateful towards any gays or anything. Infact if you check the video it’s the other way around. Everyone else was saying hateful things to the Christians.

&& for you who “don’t think that they are real Navy SEALS. A real Navy SEAL wouldn’t do something that stupid.” im pretty sure they are real. beacuse real men love God. and if you truly love God then im sure you see the state of this generation.

“sumthing wants to wipe us all out. an entire generation. it is not invisable. its only been ingored. ignored too long. we were fooled. things looked so good. but they really just broght us closer.. to this. this destruction has been coming.. building. its not like we werent warned. we should have seen the signs. we should have done something. no. we must do something.

together we can save a generation. “

thats what we’re trying to do.. we’re trying to save our generation.

It really does my heart good to see that there are still some “on fire” teenagers out there lifting up the name of our Lord, Savior, Redeemer and Friend… Jesus Christ!! I think BattleCry is an awesome thing to be a part of! Don’t give up the fight my brothers and sisters!

Yeah! Amen, Rene. You hit the nail on the head! And all of you who aren’t Christians, don’t even worry about posting a comment saying we’re stupid or wrong because:

    1. If you do, you’re probably the one who will receive God’s punishment. (though if you trust Jesus to be your lord and savior, you will be forgiven and have a free gift of eternal life)

    2. Our confidence is that Jesus loves and values us, not that others think we’re cool. You can’t say anything to affect us. Like it says in Romans 8: If God is for us, who can be against us?

Guys, you can have what we have. The happiness, joy, and peace of life with Jesus. We DO NOT HATE YOU because you don’t believe what we do. Did you get that? WE CHRISTIANS DO NOT HATE YOU, OR ANYONE! We realize that you are special and important as part of God’s creation. We were created for so much more than sex, tv, and money. If you want to live like we were meant to live, then pray with me this prayer from your heart. Don’t pray it if you don’t mean it. “God, I know and confess that I have sinned. I realize that Jesus did not sin. I accept the gift you gave us when you sent for us the perfect Christmas gift-Jesus Christ. I accept the free gift of eternal life that you have offered to me, and I confess Jesus Christ to be the lord of my life. I give my life to you Jesus. It is not I living but is now you living through me. Please change my sinful ways. I love you, and I commit by your grace to follow you as long as I live. Thank you, God. Amen.”

If you just said those words, confessed your sin and accepted Jesus to be your savior, then THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I hope you will get involved at a church; no I urge you to get plugged in at a bible-believing church. And go tell all your friends about Jesus, too. Tell them how happy and peaceful you are now, because now you will spend all of eternity in heaven.

You know, I am not about to allow the media to continue to feed lies to my generation. The media continues to try to define who we are. They push MTV, VH1 BET, and the rest of the fakeness on us. They don’t care about who we are and what is right for us. They just want our money. We don’t want to be like Paris Hilton or Justin Timberlake. We want to be like Jesus! We are sick and tired of believing the lies. So, like Jesus said, Satan get behind me! We will be a voice! We will be loud! Our battle cry will be heard! JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TRUTH AND LIFE! Rise up young people! Take a stand!

    Austin Southard,
Hi, I’m the evangelical christian you said wouldn’t read this, and if by some reason i was, to respond. How can you bash us in such a way? We don’t teach what he says we do. Yes, it is a battle, a spititual one. Not literal physical battles. How can you be so mislead?

I will pray for you brother, for I love you even though you hate me, and God loves you, even though you hate him.

On more thing, we aren’t a cult, but what this man has written is lies. Why should you belive him? Does he have proof?

    true that is, Thomas

wow. I wish that I could tell you the miracles that I’ve experienced. The truth is, we can argue all night long about whether God is real or not, but then again, there are facts.

The fact is. . . God saved me. no one can tell me that He did not change my life. No one can tell me that HE is not real, that HE does not form life and take it away, that HE is not incontrol. . .no one can tell me that HE is not love. Simply because I’ve experienced HIS love first hand.

I’ve seen miracles in my life, from personal healings, from saving me from the sin and from peer pressure and just life threatening depression to who I am now.

I went to Romania on a Mission trip this year. I saw children healed, women with diseases and stomach ulcers, “unexplainably” healed after we prayed for them, I saw children dying of AIDS who were so happy that they knew Jesus and that they could encourage people. I saw people with Asthma one moment, and after we prayed to GOD they were healed. I saw tons of people with illnesses just being healed in a seconds time.

Lives were changed. Some of the people we prayed over were healed by GOD’s omniscent grace, others were not, but I can say that this summer, I saw God blow away the people of Romania in such a way that they will never be the same.

People bound by acoholism, by drugs, just gave their lives to CHRIST. And it was so beautiful to see God at work there.

I believe in Him. I know that He is there. Nothing anyone says can change that or sway my opinion, nothing can sway theirs either, why? because we’ve seen HIS evidence.

    GOD is alive.

Please take time to read this, it’s important.

Wow. It is so amazing how some of you people are so blind! I really feel compassion right now, thinking how so many of you who argue for open-mindedness are the most narrow minded of them all! I pray to the one TRUE God who SAVED my soul, HEALED my aunt from death after a week of prayer, and CHANGED my life so that I am one of the HAPPIEST people alive right now (seriously) that you would some day realize the worthlessness of your life, and find true, happy, satisfied life in Jesus, the life I have found.

We all have wasted our lives (video games, work, money, sinful sexual pleasure, and the like) at one point or another before. What good does anything you spend time doing get for you when you will still die? 10 out of 10 people die. The sad part is that when you waste your life, nothing you have done matters, because you are dead. The facts are set in stone. It doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ right now, because sooner or later you will. I pray that it will be sooner. “One day, every knee WILL bow and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus is lord…” It is true. You WILL one day confess that Jesus is Lord of all. And you laugh. You think I’m crazy and stupid. But it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in 18 wheelers, you can stand in the middle of the road and tell yourself they don’t exist all you want, but it doesn’t change a thing. You still get hit.

You know, everyone is fighting in the spiritual war that is going on right now. All that matters is whose side you’re fighting for. You’re either on God’s side, or Lucifer’s side. The interesting thing is that if you’re on Lucifer’s side you probably don’t know it. You will fight for someone. But who, the winner or the loser? Satan has already lost we know that for sure, but he’s still fighting. He will lose. JESUS WILL PREVAIL, no matter what. Nothing can stop Battlecry’s PEACEFUL movement because the God who made YOU is behind it all. So, decide. Fight and win, live a great, satisfying life, enjoy every day. OR, fight and lose, have an ok, mostly depressed, unsatisfying, dirty, life and dread the next day. Then die and spend eternity in the worst place ever. Or spend ETERNITY with Jesus in Heaven, the best place ever, with ENDLESS PLEASURES in the presence of God almighty. Before I go, because I am up at 12:50 right now, losing sleep in hope that at least 1 person might find true life in Jesus, I want to say one thing. You can laugh at me all you want. You can believe whatever you want. Know this. One day your knee WILL bow (I pray it will bow willingly) and your tongue WILL confess (I pray it will speak happily) and whether you believe in God or not it doesn’t matter, he still loves you, the truth will hit you, and you will spend eternity somewhere. You really will. Where do you want to spend it?

I hardly think that Battlecry is calling anyone to start violence.  Their message is that souls are being lost, and they need to be fought for (not with weapons, but words).  And what will kicking the “Bush regime” out of power do for anyone, if you have no solution.  Yeah! Let’s have an anarchy!  Woohoo!  Not.  Why are you so scared if some kids go and hear about being good people?  Can’t handle the positive?  Oh no, down with good people, right?  Got to bring everyone else down to despair?  Sorry Miss, but I have hope in a better life, and I hope you can find it too one day.

And as far as unjust wars, and denouncing evils, where are you denouncing the violence in Darfur?  The violence on the streets of New Orleans?  Or what about the evils Iraqis carry out on each other?  Sure, we’ll sit back and watch it happen.  Who cares, righ?  I do.  I care whether people around the world are entitled to represent themselves.  I care if people live good lives.  I care whether or not someone makes it to Heaven.  I care whether YOU make it to Heaven.

I agree, it is sad that the people whom we are reaching out to are attacking us like this, but brothers and sisters, thats what we need to come to expect from the world. Even in the Bible it says that if we are to follow Jesus we must expect persecution. What we need to do is to pray for these people, that they will come to be saved through the power of Christ.

“Shout it out the world must know
God is love, God is love
In our streets and in our homes
God is love, the world must know
And we won’t be silent!”- Ashley Autumn

Now, I know I am going against their rights in doing this, but they have been offending my rights for quite a while now, so IM going to do a favor for them and pray for them.
“Lord, these people need you SO much. They think they have all the answers through science and facts, when in fact there are no real answers except through you. You’ve seen me try to reach through to them before, and all thats come of it is hate…. hate towards you for your love. It is satan that is fueling this hate, he is convincing these poor souls of the lies of the world, and by so doing winning their souls and submitting them to eternal torment when they die. I stand here a convicted Christian, one who will proclaim your name to the ends of the earth, and I won’t be silent until you come to save us, and even then I will be dancing in Your glory and power. Lord, I PRAY in the name of Jesus that you will show yourself to these prisoners of the world and FREE THEM! I know that those who aren’t Christians are probably laughing at me right now, but I don’t care, for they know not what they do. I am resting in your great love. Thank you for saving me, for changing my life, for bringing me to Aquire the Fire (Battlecry) to show me through the love of other Christians that there can be and IS a better life out there, that all I have to do is ask for it, believe, and live it. Free them, Lord, just like you freed me (though hopefully, not by putting them into the hospital for 2 years) I pray to you in the AWESOME and MIGHTY name of Jesus that will NOT go away by mere wishes of man, Amen.”

Jesus Christ is LOVE, and I think that by reading the responses that the original writer received at this website, he sees that he is not convincing anyone with his lies. Fellow Christians, continue to fight the lie, because if you fall for it, it will be you that will have to suffer. Life without Christ is empty, meaningless, full of pain and guilt, and pointless. When Jesus can heal someone of AIDS right on the spot, then have scientists go “Um, it’s a miracle!”, I think it would be pretty obvious that Jesus is God, and that He is love, and that He is KING!

You know for an educated person, you sound really dumb. maybe you should read up on the facts before you tear it apart… Honestly do you know anything about our founding Fathers? Have you ever read anything published about our presidents and who they give most of the credit or sometimes all of it for their success? For some reason I think not… Have you ever stopped to think and wonder what our federal and state laws are composed of? I am ashamed that people my age lokk up to all you peers for guidence and wisdom. I don’t. I’m seventeen years old and know more about our country than you… All because I study all the different angles people come from. And I know there is far more truth held in the words of the bible and of Jesus Christ than you’ll ever be able to understand, unless you come to your senses and think about your spiritual situation and repent of the blashemy your spreading and how you are poisoning my Generation. think about it

im sorry that you have seen christianity this way. this is almost extremism this is not what christianity is all about. however there is a battle going on but not a violent one. it is one that one day christianity will win it is our job as christians to try our hardest to persuade people to our beleifs which they will find truth in. this is what battle they are referring to but they have caused it to have violent connotations.
and youth do understand christ fully i found him when i was 13. my friend who was a total atheist found truth at 14 and trust me she was thinking for herself after i had witnessed to her.

I’m sorry if that’s the only experience with a Christan that you have had . . .is a hateful one. God does not call us to be condemning but that we love one another as He loved us. For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send his son to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)
and it says in 1 John 4: 7 -12 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Therefore, I am sorry that no Christian you have been in contact with has been loving.

I have to agree with Michael, I’ve been to those events and have never seen navy seals or army personnal there. no, not all Christians are homeschooled. not all homeschoolers are Christians, that’s faulty logic. And is not a valid argument, nor is it true.

However, I must say if you do read in 1 John 4, you would find this very kind of argument written there:

They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood… (1 John 4:5-6)

All in all, God is love, we cannot force God upon anyone, but to deny that He is real, is wrong, because I have seen God’s effects and the way that He works.

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:12, 15-16)

Battlecry is a symbolic name for the spiritual war that has been declared for our souls. I agree with the many people who have said “If you haven’t attended an Acquire The Fire (battlecry) event, you don’t know what you are talking about” The war that has been declared has been declared by satan, NOT by us. We have been in a war ever since the creation of man, and now that we are in the end of times, that war is getting more intense. All Battlecry is trying to do is have us open our eyes and see things the way they REALLY are, to see the world when it isn’t rewritten by people like you to make it look so much better than it really is! Battlecry is NOT promoting hate, but hatred towards the sin, the sinful desires. Can’t you see!? All of these things that you say are great (homosexuality, gay marriages, freedom of religion) are all HURTING us! Before the trashy music and movies came out, were there thousands of teenagers committing suicide each year? Were there dozens of school shootings? If you actually ATTENDED an event, and went there with an open mind, you would see that Ron Luce and Teen Mania are declaring war on the world of SIN. The world is sin, God created the world because He gave us the freedom of choice, to decide whether or not to believe in Him. He won’t make Himself obvious, because He did 2,000 years ago and we didn’t listen to Him then, so what difference would it make if He were to proclaim Himself now? If people listened back when Jesus was performing the miracles every day, the world would be MUCH different. Yes, I have never SEEN Jesus, but I have seen His works. I have seen scientists become baffled at people coming back from the dead, people being healed from terminal illnesses. Chrisitianity is not a fascist movement, but a JESUS movement. And if you are fighting it, then that is a choice that YOU are making. We aren’t forcing our viewpoints on anyone, if anyone was forcing their viewpoints, it would be the atheists who are trying to take “One nation under God” out of the Pledge. If we were forcing our viewpoints on everyone, everyone would have Bibles shoved up their noses, everyone would be forced to go to church. We promote love, peace, and eternal life through Christ, because that is the only way through peace. I read somewhere above that the world will be full of peace towards the end. Look at it like this, once the Rapture happens, all that is good and right in the world will disappear, and God’s judgements and wraths upon the earth will plague the planet for 7 years during the Tribulation. You don’t believe me? In order for the Rapture to take place, there has to be over 300 prophecies that need to come true. All of them have. Jesus Christ is LOVE. I’ve been to several Acquire the Fire (Battlecry) events, and I’ve NEVER seen the US NAVY SEALS or the ARMY advertise on the big screens. I have seen a metaphorical “God’s army” displayed, but that only means that we as Christians have a responsibility to the entire world to preach God’s message of love. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you.

And not only that, but how could the world be peaceful when there’s sin in it? The world will never see an end to war, hate, lust and destruction until the return of Jesus. Then and only then, in His amazing beauty will all knees bow and all tongues proclaim that He is Lord, then and only then will there be peace. Because, then He seperates those that love Him, those that Believe in Him, from those who curse and mock and scorn Him. It won’t be a pretty time, because He will seperate them, judging all according to their words and deeds and cast those who had a chance, those who their lives had CHOSEN not to believe in Him, then and only then will there be peace.

oh but, Richard, you are wrong. Prayer does stop the killing and it does move mountains and it does cure cancer. . . I was just on a missions trip to Romania and 4 people were miraculously healed of AIDS. We prayed over them, believing them healed, believing in God to heal them, and not even the doctor could explain what happened. But they were. Another woman’s stomach ulcer was healed. A hunchback, a diagonosed hunchback, uncurled before our eyes. A shriveled hand uncurled before our eyes. Babies were healed. And the biggest miracle of all, was that children, abused and hurting children saw God for the first time and gave their lives to Him.

I can’t explain why God chose to heal some people and not others; I’m not God, He is. But, miracles do happen. They’ve happened in my life, things that have changed me forever.

In the end it comes down to this:  If God really does exist, and I do not believe he does,  this world would be a more peaceful place of existance.  Jesus is not coming to save us, if he were he’d have already done so.  You can try to lessen the pain of your own life through belief and faith , or you can face your fears head on.  The promotion of religious fantasy has more to do with the injustice and intolerance seen in the world today than any other factor. No amount of prayer will ever move a mountain or cure cancer or stop the killing.
