Where Have All the Ramparts Gone?Posted on Oct 22, 2009
Peter Richardson’s new book about the groundbreaking Ramparts Magazine says the rag changed America. Truthdig arts and culture editor Kasia Anderson asks the author and former Ramparts Editor Robert Scheer, Truthdig’s editor-in-chief, why its impact isn’t better remembered, and what will take its place. (i’m trying to catch up on some of the great podcasts I havent had time for, sadly.. in response to the question this episode poses, perhaps there’s tons of them, or at least sites/podcasts presenting Ramparts-like gems within, but it’s all so immensely dispersed, that it could really use a print pub like a new Ramparts to galvanize these progressives nationally?)
I’m grabbing this, and looking forward to hearing Robert on his home turf as I enjoy his kicking of butt on KCRW regularly.. hopefully will remember to return here with a huge “blogroll” in answer to the posed question.. quite an undertaking, just to compile
my own bookmarks!
