sailorflatI don’t want to sound unsocial, but I think that paper ballots and voting by mail is the most logical solution. Actually there still can be manipulation because an individual actually records your ballot.
Agree with your post, and to add two cents, I think a good way to reliably count paper votes would be to, each election year, bring in several English fluent non-Americans who don’t know anything about American politics to count our votes. The paper vote method should not go away…it should just be carried out by people who are unbiased.
This, along with implementing a required 90 page PCEPAT (Presidential Candidate Evaluation and Political Assessment Test—for Vice Presidential Candidates, VPCEPAT) to ensure people who run for President actually know how American politics works and what the Constitution says, will probably be the most important and effective additions to our election process.
I’m not joking either…I want to see an amendment for this type of required presidential evaluation test. Had these assessmentss been in effect, we’d probably have entirely different candidates.

Not to worry——you can only steal a close election. Obama’s apparent landslide will eliminate any possibility of a stolen election.

I am really concerned at just how many possibilities there are to rig this election
Report thisHow come there are such long lines waiting to vote. They have had 4 years to get this right. It leaves me very suspicious about why these queues are so long.
How many elections have been stolen in the past. I dread to think.
Get out and vote and make sure you have voted properly. Take a video camera and if there are problems insist the machine is removed.
Why,are there no observers. The US would complain bitterly if another country declined to have observers.
AND WHAT ABOUT THE HACKERS?

I don’t want to sound unsocial, but I think that paper ballots and voting by mail is the most logical solution. Actually there still can be manipulation because an individual actually records your ballot. When California had a special election devised by Swarzenegger to change the manner in which districts were created, both my husband and I didn’t get our absentee ballots. So we went to the county election department on the day of the election. The clerk there told us that we needed to use pencil because that’s all the machine would read. I complained that the ballot actually says “black ink” and she said,“Yeah I know. But that’s so an absentee’s ballot won’t be changed” and that she actually puts our vote in pencil on the day of the elction.

Monday`s http://www.democracynow.org has a piece what may happen with this computer voting. It may be rigged that you may vote for the opposite candidate…especially with this touch-screen. It is a good video because Mark Crispin Miller says that you should complain and complain to those in charge, etc.
