The always entertaining Kinky Friedman, author most recently of “You Can Lead a Politician to Water, but You Can’t Make Him Think: Ten Commandments for Texas Politics,” tells Truthdig why the Internet is the work of Satan, why politicians are “stuck on stupid” and why God couldn’t beat the Republicans in Texas.

Kinky doesn’t know the history of Al Sharpton. The Tawana Brawley case wasn’t about innocent cops or innocent coutrs. It was about the fact that Sharpton knew Tawana’s name. She said she was raped and the cops and the press and People and Time and even Phil Donahue saw fit to print and broadcast the name of an alleged rape victim ad the same time we only knew the Central Park Jogger only by that pseudonym and the blue dot woman in the William Kennedy Smith case was not known by her name.

By the way, William Kennedy Smith was ACQUITTED. Innocent white guy, according to Friedman. Why is no one upset with the blue dot woman to this day, or her lawyers or Gloria Allred, or anyone who supported her. There is definitely a racial double standard.

Kinky Friedman really is some kind of good-old-boy to announce that George Bush is a good guy.  Friedman is a charming raconteur who specializes in espousing a cute persona on stage as well in the arena of serious issues.  However, George Bush is undeniably a torturer and murderer and destroyer of the US Constitution - No excuses.  Kinky Friedman has some great points and rich sarcasm, but he sold his soul at the key moment on this one.  Essentially he relates to certain dudes who relish a Tasters Choice bonding moment between guys, you know - The I’m a member of the club mentality.  Makes me feel like jumping into my pickup with the turbo diesel muscle exhausts with the cab 8 feet above the road and riding somebody’s ass; just to prove the estrogen in the drinking water supply hasn’t affected me yet.

90+% of Australians vote but it doesn’t really make that much difference to “corruption”, Friedman. The last federal election there gave the ruling Liberal/National coalition a majority in both the parliament (congress equivalent) AND the senate. The next election there will most probably give the new incoming opposition Labor party (Democrats equivalent) a majority in parliament as well as in ALL of the states!!! Interesting…..

“Ten Commandments for Texas Politics”...... Truthdig ....is the work of Satan, commenters are “stuck on stupid”. You Can Lead a Blogger to Water, But You Can’t Make Him/Her Think, uhh.
