I have been active in leftists causes since my first Ban the Bomb demonstration, in Washington DC in the spring of 1961. I am apalled by the seeming lack of interest of a majority of Americans in the important issues of the day and their total unwillingness to understand the very real threat to our democratic processes and our way of life since the Reagan administration.
