You probably heard a lot of left-wingers whingeing about how they wanted to leave America because of George Bush. My wife and I are some of the few who actually did. (Helped that I’m a registered nurse, so I could get in here on a work visa.)

It wasn’t easy, and we gave up a lot from the cushy life we had in the U.S. But we sleep easier at night knowing that we’re no longer tax-paying cogs in the Cheney Death Machine. It’s easier to follow the slow dissolution of democracy in the U.S. from a distance, because we don’t feel like that sword of Damocles is hanging RIGHT OVER OUR HEADS!
