
One of the standout moments on night three of the Democratic National Convention—scratch that, make that the entire DNC—was former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
Giffords’ inspirational appearance at the DNC comes less than two years after she was shot in the head during a deadly rampage at a constituent meet and greet in Tucson. She subsequently resigned her congressional seat to focus on her recovery.
