Fresh off his historically narrow victory in Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses, Republican presidential pageant favorite Mitt Romney beefed up his attack rhetoric against his would-be opponent, Barack Obama, on Thursday by lashing out against the president’s latest big appointments. Romney’s leap of logic from “crony capitalist” to “job killer” seemed a bit spurious and hard to follow, which can mean only one thing: He’s ready for the campaign trail. —KA

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney unleashed a new assault on President Obama today, charging him with “crony capitalism” after he made three new appointments to the National Labor Relations Board—long hated by businesses who say the board favors unions.
“This president is a crony capitalist. He’s a job killer,” said Romney at a morning town hall in the Granite State. “This president said he wants to create green jobs, I think he wants to give jobs to the people who gave him the green.”
