Observer in Courtroom Throws Shoe at Breivik
Posted on May 11, 2012
A relative of one of the victims of Anders Breivik’s rampage on the Norwegian island of Utoeya interrupted his mass murder trial by throwing a shoe at him and shouting, “You killed my brother! Go to hell!” The shoe missed Breivik and hit his lawyer instead.
The court had been reviewing autopsy reports.
Some in the court applauded the shoe-thrower as he was led away by police. A court official remarked that the incident was not surprising, given the emotional intensity of the trial. —ARK
