BP Says the Hole Is Plugged
Posted on Jul 15, 2010
After nearly three months of dumping between 92 million and 327 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, BP announced Thursday that it has stopped the leak. The oil giant will monitor the well’s pressure while the rest of us hold our breath.
BP says oil has stopped leaking into the Gulf for the first time since April.
BP has been slowly dialing down the flow as part of a test on a new cap. Engineers are now monitoring the pressure to see if the busted well holds.
