An Agnostic for President — and a Woman at That

How refreshing that there is one democratic nation — Chile — where a leading candidate has the courage to suggest that the impact of the clergy has not always added to enlightenment, particularly as to the place of women in society. Jefferson lives.  (See the BBC and Washington Post reports.)  So does the informed debate, taking place in the Featured Dig section of this site, challenging the mass-media taboo on the “athiest” word.  For the traditionally faithful among our readers, not to worry, the Rev. Madison Schockley’s excellent evocation of the true Jesus will appear in time for Christmas.
