
The United States is evacuating “certain non-emergency personnel” from Yemen and encouraging other Americans to leave the country while they still can. The State Department cites “terrorist activities and civil unrest” in its most recent travel warning. President Ali Abdullah Saleh has again said he will not step down and leave Yemen, despite mounting protests.
He has so far refused to sign a transition deal that would see him resign in favour of a unity government.
