Three Marines are dead at a U.S. base in Virginia after a gunman opened fire on two others before shooting and killing himself.
The first victim was shot at about 11 p.m. EST Thursday, The Guardian reported, leading to an exchange of fire between the suspect and authorities, base spokesman Lt. Agustin Solivan said. Authorities found the suspect dead along with a second victim upon entering the barracks early Friday.
The suspected gunmen and both victims, a male and a female, were staff members at the base’s officer candidate school, a senior defense official told NBC News. No names were immediately released.
