Sarah Palin Gets Philosophical

We’ve been following Sarah Palin on Twitter and so far we’ve been rewarded with a lot of boring dispatches about the Iditarod, the “Labor Commish” and those dreamy smoke jumpers. But the fickle Alaska governor dropped a couple of quotes on us Wednesday that make it pretty clear she sees herself as a conscientious iconoclast willing to “sacrifice to win.”

Here are two of Palin’s posts from Wednesday, July 8:

Let’s take the first quote, clearly a reference to the backlash over the governor’s inexplicable decision to resign. What exactly is the “larger vision” she’s pursuing? A talk show, perhaps?

“You have to sacrifice to win.” Again, Palin frames her bailing as a noble act. But you don’t have to quit to sacrifice. After all, Palin tried to refuse her state’s share of federal stimulus money, which would have seen countless Alaskans do without. Perhaps she meant to say “I have to sacrifice for Alaskans to win.”
