On Friday, a former civilian engineer for the U.S. Army was let off with a mere fine after providing Israel with U.S. military secrets in the early 1980s. Ben-Ami Kadish has 60 days to pay $50,000 in the case, which was controversial for both the amount of time it took to charge the American and the relative lightness of the sentence.
An 85-year-old former civilian employee of the US Army has been fined for passing classified documents to Israel in the 1980s.
Ben-Ami Kadish was spared jail because of his age and health, but ordered to pay $50,000 (£31,000) by a US court.
