Schwarzenegger Backs McCain

California’s celebrity governor has thrown his muscle behind the McCain campaign. Despite the occasional pander, McCain still plays better with California’s moderates than Mitt Romney, who appears to have been embraced, if reluctantly, by the more conservative elements of his party.
New York Times:
Meanwhile, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has forged a moderate record and spoken out against partisanship in Washington, threw his political brawn behind Mr. McCain Thursday after the pair toured a solar energy company here. Calling him “a great American hero and an extraordinary leader,” Mr. Schwarzenegger emphasized Mr. McCain’s ability to work with both parties to accomplish objectives.
Saying that Mr. McCain would work both to protect the environment while encouraging economic growth, Mr. Schwarzenegger also referred to his military service, saying he had “incredible credentials on national security.”
