It’s really hard to look at these photos of President Bush meeting with severely wounded veterans at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio without just saying “wow” over and over. We’re hard pressed to imagine what Bush might’ve been thinking as he saw the effects of his foreign policy on these young soldiers.
Daily Mail:
During the President’s visit to the new £30.7million Brooke Army Medical Centre for veterans Mr Bush vowed to modernize the military care system. “We have an outdated system that can bog down some of those recovering in a maze of bureaucracy,” he said.
“It’s unacceptable to me as the commander in chief, it’s unacceptable to the families of those who deserve the best care and it’s unacceptable to the American people.”

Waiting for the president: Army Sgt. Brandon Adam, who lost both of his legs in Baghdad last May, was one of the wounded vets with whom President Bush met at San Antonio’s Brooke Army Medical Center this week.
