Deal on North Korea Nuclear Disarmament Is Near

The U.S. envoy to the six-party North Korea talks says all parties have reached tentative agreement on a deal that would, according to previous reports, provide North Korea with energy assistance in exchange for an end to its nuclear program. A final text of the proposal has been distributed for review, and the delegates will meet again Tuesday to consider approving the agreement.
The late-night discussions were described by a Chinese spokesman as “extraordinarily intense”.
Mr Hill did not give any details of the potential deal, but said delegates had made a lot of progress.
“The Chinese side distributed a final text which will be referred to the capitals of the delegations,” he told journalists.
“We will have another meeting tomorrow and we will see if we can get it approved.”
