Truthdig says: You might not hear it from the U.S. media, but the situation continues to deteriorate in Iraq. In the last few days:
BBC: At least seven people have been killed and 20 injured in twin bombings in a market in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Three people were killed by the first explosion outside a CD shop in the Bab al-Sharqi area, police said. | story
BBC: Support among Iraqi people for British troops will decline as the foreign force begins to withdraw, a senior soldier says. Lt Col James Hopkinson said that as Iraqis take greater control of their country “it becomes more and more difficult for ourselves to be here”. | story
