
Republican Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio is the first politician to plead guilty to charges leveled in the corruption scandal that (hopefully) will bring down the constellation of other corrupt lawmakers connected to lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

WASHINGTON (AP)—Rep. Bob Ney pleaded guilty Friday in the Jack Abramoff influence-peddling investigation, the first lawmaker to confess to crimes in a scandal that has stained the Republican-controlled Congress and the Bush administration.
