George Zimmerman has taken to the Web to drum up support—and to support himself. The 28-year-old former neighborhood watch patrolman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, has launched a website seeking donations to cover his legal and living expenses.  —KA

BBC:

Mr Zimmerman, 28, provides no details on his website about the night of the killing, saying only that “on Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage”.

“As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life.

“This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries,” adds the text, which appears against the backdrop of the US national flag.

I think he is terrified that he’ll serve time for something in HIS mind does not
deserve punishment and wants the best legal minds money can buy and that is
why he started the website. We should remember that the innocent as well as
the guilty want the best team money can buy in today’s criminal justice circus’s
center ring. The current special prosecutor may professionally sense that an
arrest is unwarranted but feel pressure to “do something” anyway.
According to some news accounts she’s already met with Trayvon’s parents and
prayed with them? Did she offer to meet with Zimmerman’s family and pray with
them? Maybe, but having both parties present for a prayer session would have
been a better call- if one is into prayer as a healing procedure.

None of us wants this thing to be a Tunisian fruit seller incident growing into a
juggernaut race war in south Florida.

I think this guy has absolutely no shame.

He’s walking off scot free from a murder he in all probability committed and INTENDED to commit (that means pre-meditated, or muder in the first degree) and now he wants to exploint his noteriety by begging for bucks in internet!!!!????

I would almost be tempted to make a youtube video giving his the finger.

I think it desirable that somebody help Zimmerman with
his living expenses and hope that the people of the
state of Florida offer him free housing for a couple of
years.
