Would-Be Underwear Bomber Was CIA Double AgentPosted on May 8, 2012
The recently uncovered al-Qaida plot to take down a U.S.-bound airliner took a dramatic turn Tuesday: It turns out that the would-be bomber who was chosen to carry out the mission was actually an informant for the CIA. The double agent was the one who ultimately exposed the terrorist plot, which was conceived in Yemen, before it was able to be carried out. —TEB

vector,
I understood your point. And I understand you purposely went out of your way to be an ass by belittling another to make that point. How proud you must be.

Remember Bales was a Vet and he deserved belittlement. Cally as well.
Just because one puts on a military uniform doesn’t make them a saint, quite the contrary.

IMax; why is it that blogdog understood the point and you seem to care more about protecting the right of the Vet to boast that “we the people” somehow owe him our freedom? We Don’t!
Like Jefferson and unlike you, I do not worship at the alter of the cult of the military.

RE: vector, You actually belittled a Vet…
WRONG
the question pointed to the fact that the US Military no longer serves the US
Citizenry, rather, only the global corporate state and its controlling orligarchy
those who are made to believe that they serve the citizenry should be encouraged to question that notion

vector,
You actually belittled a Vet so that you could make an ideological point with him?
You must be so proud of yourself.

I got into an argument with an old guy the other day. He had a bumper sticker that read, “Like your freedom, thank a Vet”! I asked him, “do you really think your service to corporate expansion has made me any safer?”
The CIA, FBI, DEA, NSA… all have this same attitude that they are the only thing that stands between we “milk toast” citizens and that dark dangerous world out there. They completely over look the fact that their actions “create” most of the real threats we citizens now fact (colonialism) and treat us as if we were “kept” Mafia wives; shield us from the evil they do on a daily basis.

That kinda reminds me of Admiral Ramius (sp) from Hunt for Red October. Except instead of it being an undetectable nuclear submarine, it was an undetectable testicle bomb.

You would think AQ would have caught on as Keifer Sutherland was playing the double agent. Obviously the CIA is jealous of the FBI’s perfect record of keeping us “safe” from every domestic terrorist plot they enable. For a real laugh, replay some footage from ‘08 with Barry and the Dims talking about how despicable it is too use the ‘threat of terrorism’ for political gain.

Marshall - “The conclusion I hear trying to frantically bust its way out of your keyboard is that AQ is a fabrication of US intelligence which uses it simply to justify its existence.”
Of course you drew the wrong conclusion…..read my post again, genius. It’s simple really: THIS WAS A MARKETING STUNT. Most Americans (I think I can safely include you in this) are paranoid and stupid enough to think that this “reaffirms” the power of AQ and proves again that the CIA (you know those guys) is “exceptional.” I suppose now this should put us “on alert” so that we can squander even more of our valuable resources going to dangerous places and finding (OH THE HORROR) that there are bad people there doing bad things…..I’m shocked, shocked….....I only wonder if these guys in Yemen sprinkled white powder all over the bomb and taped a little label on it: “WMD”
Ya, “great job” CIA…..here’s another blank check…Oh, say hi to your buddies over there at Halliburton for me.

I guess the FBI got weary of directing every major terror plot and thought they should give the CIA a bit of the action.

“Never mind the fact that had our “intelligence” people simply not sent some guy there to pick up a bomb NOTHING would have happened…...Am I missing something here?”
Yes - a brain. How you’ve decided that the absence of our intelligence agent would prevent AQ from building a new bomb is beyond me given that the first one they tried was NOT strapped to a US agent. The conclusion I hear trying to frantically bust its way out of your keyboard is that AQ is a fabrication of US intelligence which uses it simply to justify its existence. And of course this can only be true if 9/11, on top of all the other terrorism attempts - both successful and thwarted - was an inside job. Which leads directly to koo-koo-ville where I’m guessing you hail from, but then please don’t let me put words in your mouth.

So our “intelligence” people send over some guy to our dreaded enemies in Yemen (or wherever) and he convinced them that he’s the perfect candidate to be a suicide bomber. He says:“WTF, I’ll strap a bomb next to my testicles and blow myself up along with a few of them there ‘infidels’.” And our dreaded enemies think, “WTF, why not?” So they give the guy a bomb to stick next to his testicles and send him on his way…..Then, the “intelligence” people tell everyone that will listen: “Hey, we can justify our paychecks! We actually caught our enemies ‘doing bad things like plotting to blow shit up!’”
Never mind the fact that had our “intelligence” people simply not sent some guy there to pick up a bomb NOTHING would have happened…...Am I missing something here?
