Wisconsin Collective Bargaining Law Struck DownPosted on Sep 15, 2012
A Wisconsin judge Friday repealed the state law supported by Gov. Scott Walker that ended collective bargaining rights for most public workers for more than a year. The law led to the effort to repeal Walker, which failed. After a lawsuit brought by the Madison teachers union and a union for Milwaukee city employees, Dane County Circuit Judge Juan Colas said that the law runs afoul of the state and U.S. constitutions. A spokesman for Walker said he was confident the decision would be overturned on appeal. —Posted by Alexander Reed Kelly.
