ProPublica

ProPublica has created an easy-to-use database that lists the congressional supporters and opponents of two bills that threaten Internet freedom under the guise of strengthening copyright protections. Of the current 80 proponents and 29 contesters, where do your representatives stand? —ARK

ProPublica:

Well-funded interests on either side of SOPA and PIPA are lining up support among members of Congress. This database keeps track of where members of Congress stand. New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

I just hope that everyone realizes how important this is and does their part to save the internet & our economy! ...here is another good video that explains the consequences of SOPA pretty well:

Forget the topic of this thread and let us all undertake a bit of ‘Free Association’ in stead.

Keep Bradley Manning incarcerated until his trial of espionage and, ‘rendition’ Julian Assange to every country which feels a need to question him and put him on trial.

‘Occupy’ the U.S. Congress and support your local Humane Society!
