President Barack Obama, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and others meet during the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington on Monday.

As part of the multinational Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, President Barack Obama met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday to discuss, among other things, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to encourage both sides to resume proximity peace talks, according to the AFP.

AFP via Google News:

The White House said in a statement that the two leaders discussed the impasse in US efforts to launch indirect peace talks when they met on the sidelines of a 47-nation nuclear security summit here.

“Both agreed that Israeli-Palestinian proximity talks should begin as soon as possible, and transition quickly to direct negotiations,” the statement said.

“They also agreed that both sides should refrain from actions that undermine trust during these talks.”

Glad you cleared that up Gabe. I can respect a certain amount of blanket cynicism for world leaders while not being prejudice towards anyone in particular. I just don’t know the answer or alternative to that.

The Hashemites are direct descendants of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). HM Hussein ibn Ali was the last Hashemite King of Arabia. They were based in Mecca. Hijaz.

The Wahabi, Islamic purest - sorta kinda at least in their own eyes - helped oust the Hashemites for their dealings with the infidel British during WW1. TE Lawrence (of Arabia fame) partnered with then Emir Faisal ibn Hussien al Hashem against the Ottoman. It was Faisal’s wedding robes that Lawrence wore.

Calabashe, “perhaps a deep mistrust for all Heads of State?”
“Surely not because he’s half Arab?”

You’re correct with your first assumption, but I have nothing against Arabs that would form any prejudice to him - it’s just that the fabulously wealthy got to where they’re at by walking on a lot of heads. Whether he did, or his Father, or his Father before him - power corrupts…

crow: That Israel is a nuclear power is like the worst kept secret on the planet. Bibi, the Neo-Zionist, brought before Arab leaders? He’d get stoned and not in the good way.

Sharon wouldn’t travel to Europe because he might have been arrested and brought before the world court up on war crimes.

Gabe - LOL - Now I know you’re pullin’ shit outta da air! Just guessin’, huh? - LOL Or perhaps a deep mistrust for all Heads of State?

You obviously don’t know the history between the Hashemites and the Saudi or how Jordan came to be in the first place. LOL

“Let’s call him Corrupt by association ...”

Surely not because he’s half Arab?

Calabashe, Anyone who shakes hands with the Devil (US) is to that degree corrupt. He is also close to the Monarchy in Saudi- Let’s call him Corrupt by association, and as a Monarch he wears the dubious Crown of supreme Politic in Jordan.
I know a lot of nice guys who are corrupt, but being nice isn’t reason enough for me not to count my fingers after I shake their hands!

“Netanyahu decided not to attend the nuclear summit, after returning home last month to media derision after a testy White House meeting with Obama failed to make obvious progress.”

“Netanyahu reportedly feared that that Muslim nations here would make an issue of Israel’s assumed nuclear status, but his decision revived debate about his tense relations with the Obama administration.”

Why do you say HM Abdullah ibn Hussein ibn Talal al Hashem is corrupt?

Deja vu all over again. With the same result.

I suggest they all take off their clothes. I’ve found it harder to bullshit and lie when I’m naked.

Calabashe, I think the War Criminal comment was directed at Obama - considering he inherited the “War President” role from the evil Twig. The Corrupt Monarch tag fits pretty well even though he likes to Trek and rides a Harley. Having a gorgeous wife goes with being a Monarch you get to choose a variety from a variety - unlike we common worthless eaters who settle for the remainder of the throwbacks.

Oh my - I’ve stumbled upon a collection of bellicose racism here. A shouting match.

Fun Fact: HM Abdullah ibn Hussein al Hashem is not “A corrupt monarch and a war criminal ...” He is the 43rd descendant of the Prophet (PBUH). The real “sang rael” as popularly referenced by Dan Brown. The man himself strikes me as a Jerry Mathers only in much better shape. He is also a Trekker and once appeared on TNG in a cameo role. Like his Dad he also rides a Harley. Not to mention his wife, HM Queen Rania, is a major babe! I like the guy.

From recent news it appears President Obama is sending up trail balloons as to whether US should consider imposing a peace plan and to what extent.

A corrupt monarch and a war criminal telling the Palestinians what to do? Isn’t this a nuclear summit? Why don’t they call for Israel to stop producing nuclear weapons? Obama’s hypocritical posturing is too much to bear sometimes.

How much longer are the Arabs/Iranians/Muslims supposed to believe this
b#ll?

The people that tell Obama, the Us Congress and the US Senate what they are
permitted to do in the Middle East are already on record according to Moshe
Ya’alon THE GUY who tells Nethanyahu what to do that in answer to a question
put to him by one of Israel’s main newspapers:-

Q: So why all these games of make-believe negotiations? It’s possible to
announce that we will not reach an agreement, and that is all.

YA’ALON: Because in the political establishment there are pressures. Peace
Now from within and other elements from without. So you have to maneuver.
But what I’m saying now has to be given over to the Americans, and I hope that
they will understand.

Some of what we have to do is maneuver with the American administration
and the European establishment, which are also nourished by Israeli elements,
which CREATE THE ILLUSION THAT AN AGREEMENT CAN BE REACHED.
