JPMorgan Chase is America’s second biggest bank, further fattened from gobbling up the carcasses of Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual, so it stands to reason that millions of Americans have been inconvenienced by the inexplicable meltdown of the company’s website.

Online banking has been kaput since Monday night, leaving bill payers stranded and forcing others to schlep to an actual building.

AP via Yahoo:

Chase’s online banking service was down for much of the day on Tuesday. The bank said it stemmed from a technical problem and that it was working to resolve it.

The service went down Monday night, potentially affecting its 16.5 million customers who bank online. Chase spokesman Thomas Kelly couldn’t specify the exact time service was disrupted.

Anarcissie,

I have never been an advocate of the “Conspiricy Theory” in my adult entire life, but through observing events in almost all human events in so many fields ranging from political to economical to financial to social events as well as war and peace,I have developed my own theory. I call it the “Theory of Trend” or as a shorter name,“Trend Theory”. And it seems to apply on the computer technical problems being faced by the On-Line-Banking.

According to Dan Fitzpatrick’s article entitled “J.P.Morgan(Chase) Wrestles Web Snarl”,published in The Wall Street Journal/Business,of September 16,2010,the following banks/financial institutions had suffered similar technical difficulties in the On-Lin-Banking as Chase wrestling with now:

Bank of Amerca
Wells Fargo & Co.
HSBC Holding
Citigroup

That is a total of five largest banks/financial institutions in the country.

As it may be seen, there is a pattern there I call it a TREND of technical problems has to do with the fundamental concept of On-Lin-Banking.

All the talk about Chase should have a “Backing-Up System” does not really hold water. What Chase or the other four financial institutions can do if their “Backing-Up Systems” also become malfunctioning by consecutive technical “contamination” or rather consecutive technical “pollutions”.

Therefore,I question the wisdom of depending totally upon the fundamental concept of On-Line-Banking. There must be other and more dependable ways.

I personally will adhere firmly, from now on,upon the old fashion method of paying bills by checks untill a more reliable system is developed, technically polished and invented.
