Tilikum, According to the Book of ExodusPosted on Mar 4, 2010
Last month’s trainer tragedy at SeaWorld has taken on biblical proportions. According to an evangelical pastor evidently given to consulting the Old Testament in reference to theme park disasters, the book of Exodus suggests that Tilikum, the orca responsible for killing handler Dawn Brancheau, should have been dealt with in the manner of a murderous ox. —KA

hello. i wanted a Tilly on toast with lettuce and tomato. i had no idea i was not supposed to eat that murderous fish. i am thinking sweet pickle on the side. thank you Jesus for dying for my sinning nature. may God forgive my transgressions, i am but hungry flesh. give the fish its last cigarette, make it walk the last mile: execute Tilly. value the Tilly tooth jewelry to come. kill all the fish in Tilly’s family, and make the oceans a better place to live. it’s fish day, and i’m hungry.

How do I know there isn’t a God? By every disgusting, arrogant preacher who has no balance to what they say. I have said before and I see at lest one person feels the same way, “if JC is God or the “son of God” than his words should trump anything in the Old Testament. All these blood and guts, you must do violence to gain God’s favor come from the Old Testament and contradict the teachings of Christ, so how can you claim to be a Christian.
Using the minds that we must assume were given by God, we have learned how much of nature works and we know that animals have limits to what they can process mentally and we know stress causes disease, mental and physical. So why would we treat an animal severely that has been put in an un-natural environment.
As far as following the letter of the words of the old Testament let’s look at what is said “thou shalt not kill”, there isn’t any if, and’s or buts and yet the Old Testament is full of God ordering people to kill the innocent along with the guilty. Any fair evaluation of the Old Testament is that it doesn’t seem able to stay on point in anything.
Not surprisingly can divines stay on point. We must follow the word of the Old Testament and so these same divines wear clothing and scent prohibited by the Old Testament with severe penalties, but think they must kill, confine and destroy those people who commit acts that they personally have trouble with, but it is ok to break the dressing codes that call for the same treatment as the so called moral codes. Actually the dressing codes are considered moral issues by the Old Testament.
Please lets put the Old Testament in the Mythological section of the library and stop bringing it out when some self appointed divine wants to commit violence against animals or people. What an ass wipe.

If that whale was sterile it would have been killed or stoned to death after the first human died.

Well, this is one we could do without.
How about the really important questions, like:
Report this1. Is it fair to whales to capture them and put them in tanks?
2. Do you care whether it is fair or not? Do oyou think they are happy in tanks?
3. Does the preacher know more about whales than the zoo keeper?
4. Is it fair for the Japanese to kill and eat whales just because they always have, and even though whales are an endangered species?
5. Who was “Moby Dick”? Who was Ishmael? Why was he named that?

Amazing how every “the bible must be followed word for word” nutjobs always fall back on “interpretation” when it suits them. Huffington Post is also having a heck of a time with this one, although most people are joking about “stoning” the whale. Mostly ‘cause it’s funnier that way. Congrats to TruthDig for presenting the story from the more accurate view! But it’s still gonna be fun.
